I've been to Russia numerous times on business (pre-war). I've also (unfortunately) interacted with Russian people countless times on international business, and the wealthier Russians who travel for vacation to places like Vietnam, Thailand and Cambodia, the way us North Americans travel to the Carribean.

I maintain my opinion that it's an orc'like culture of sycophants, drunks, neurologically "unexercised" (I'm being kind) unhealthy people, many of whom live in woeful poverty that they brought onto themselves. They have horrendous life expectancy (especially their men) compared to their Western counterparts, largely due to their horrible diets, alcoholism and lack of available healthcare (again, their fault). The minority in the country, that does realize that they live in a shithole, have no power to speak out, or they actually end up dying in comedic ways that you'd only otherwise see in a movie or read in a book. Who falls down a flight of stairs, through a 4th storey window, after committing suicide via multiple gunshots? It's actually laughable.

Do you know what the most telling fact is surrounding Russia and the truth of it being a shithole that the people of Russia are responsible for creating?... All of their best athletes that play international sports and many of their top business people live elsewhere. Places like USA, Canada, France, Germany, UK, Italy, Dubai, etc. Those that are lucky enough to make it out rarely go back other than to visit family.

Of the countries I mentioned above, how many of their most successful people call Russia their home? The number is near zero. Why? Because we are home to far better places to live than among the degenerate majority that forms the Russian populous.

For example, it is objectively true that many wealthy, powerful Russians choose to live abroad, in far better (in almost every way) countries. Where as almost all of our wealthy and powerful people avoid Russia like the plague. That isn't by accident.

Also, their life expectancy is objectively deplorable. Especially their men. Just as an example...

Majority of wealthy people, as you call them (I call them criminals), are not of Russian or even of Slavic origin. They are mostly jews or of some other origin. Even if your compraison data is true Canada and Russia cant be compared. Russian industry is far more diverisitile and larger.

Im not disagreeing that general life in Russia for the average citizen is pretty bad compared to alot of European countries etc... but comparing salaries and assuming what life is like is extremely flawed, it tells NOTHING.

In the USA the gross average monthly wage is like 6000$ in alot of European countries its 3000-4000$, yet in most of those countries the average life and what you can afford and how you live is at the very least the same if not better than the USA.

So in Switzerland people can afford 5 times more than in Portugal? And in Germany 2 times more?

Your ability to leave your country and travel, move, work, etc internationally is deeply impacted by wage. The Russian wage is sooo excessively low that the average Russian can't ever afford to leave their country. It's not as if their purchasing power, wage adjusted, is anywhere near what is in many Western countries, especially when it comes to leaving Russia. When they have to convert Rubles to any Western currency to spend abroad, we're talking exchange rates that make it near impossible.

An episode of the battle between the Russian 752nd Motorized Rifle Regiment of the 20th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Zapad group and the Ukrainian 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. The video was filmed near the settlement of Nadiya in the LPR. A column of Ukrainian equipment consisting of a tank, an infantry fighting vehicle, an M113 armored personnel carrier, and an M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle attempted to attack Russian positions. Russian intelligence spotted the column and struck with artillery and drones. The video was filmed from several drones. As a result of the battle, three Ukrainian M113 armored personnel carriers and an M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle were destroyed, and an infantry fighting vehicle was also abandoned. The video is shortened, the dead servicemen have been removed.

The Ukrainian naval drone is based on a jet ski, there are several versions, the model is unknown. Fire is being conducted on the naval drone from a ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft artillery mount, made in the Soviet Union. The ZU-23-2 anti-aircraft mount has a rate of fire of up to 2,000 rounds per minute and can hit targets at a range of up to 3 km. As a result of the battle, the Ukrainian naval drone caught fire.

Tuesday, March 18th will be an enormous day as it relates to this war. Two significant events will happen nearly simultaneously.

1. Trump and Putin are set to speak on Tuesday, as USA pushes Russia and Ukraine to accept a ceasefire agreement. This initial conversation will likely set the tone of whether or not the Trump Government will remain sympathetic to Russia, or perceive Putin and the Russian Government as unserious about a ceasefire. We should start getting some reaction as soon as tomorrow night.

2. German Government will vote to eliminate their national debt brake on military funding, allowing new German Chancellor, Merz to significantly increase Germany's military spending both immediately and into the future. There is a special clause in the bill that would allow German military support to a nation being invaded (i.e. Ukraine) to be exempt from the debt brake as well. Merz is thought to have the votes he needs, but we'll see later today.

Both outcomes will have enormous impacts on another piece of news from today. The EU is planning to increase collective military aid to Ukraine in 2025 to $43 Billion, doubling the current $21.5 Billion plan that is currently in place. Today both Spain and Italy said that they are not yet ready to approve the plan as they want to see what comes of the Putin-Trump phone call and any possibility of a ceasefire. Meanwhile, Germany's incoming Chencellor, Merz has been vocal about at least doubling Germany's military aid to Ukraine in 2025 from the $4 Billion that is currently planned, to $8 Billion. Merz has noted that Germany has considerably more room in it's industry to produce and restore weapons for Ukraine in 2025, but without the additional funds he's seeking, not all projects will be maximized in 2025 and some would have to wait for funding into 2026.

Regardless, March 18th will prove to be a big day in this war. Ukraine's two largest backers, the two largest economies in the West, are set to take major steps as it relates to the war. Both will inevitably shape the outcome. Both Ukrainians and Russians will be watching intently.

They give aid as if they were helping the poor, what can Ukraine do with this? It's just a struggle to survive... It is as if all sides are trying to continue the war rather than end it.

The world is very silent about Gaza too. Unless real steps are taken against injustice, such aggression will one day knock on the door of every country.

worth keeping in mind that countries like france and germany were ok with Russia's invasion of Ukraine, it was American pressure that pulled them into the fold. If the US were to normalise relations with Russia, i would expect France and Germany to follow suit. Especially France. No way on earth the French or Germans will want to be opposed to the US/Russia combo.

Potentially had Turkiye not sold Ukraine drones and probably in a few years we will find out Turks probably operated them to a degree, the war may have been lost in the first few weeks.

This doesnt even take into account that many european nations only came into the fold once Ukraine had proven they could hold Russia back. Many of them were ready to welcome their Russian master back in.

Also France and Russia were working together in Libya, the French even got the EU to create some kind of mission to stop Turkish weapons to the UN recognised government. While weapons from Russia, Assad, Iran to Hafter were ok. So France was ok with extending Russian power projection into the med sea. Actually not just ok with it but playing a position that would give Russia a real strategic chokehold in the med sea.

Every nation in Europe will look to their own interests first and foremost, european identity sounds good on paper but in reality its "real politik" And if there is one thing Trump said that i 100% agree with, "everything macron touches turns to shit." Him trying to position himself as the leader of a new security mechanism probably means its going to be a complete failure.
