Pindad should have light vehicle division in separate facility, coz Maung potentially will have civilian version and mass produced for civilian market.
Better if they have JV with local company like Astra or Bakrie, that already mature in automotive spare part industry

PT Pindad (Persero) produces the Maung domestically. One of its partnerships is PT Handal Indonesia Motor (HIM).

PT Handal Indonesia Motor is a car assembly company. Various brands, including Chery, Neta, and Jetour, assemble their cars here. Hyundai has also used Handal's facilities in the past.

Jongkie Sugiarto, Deputy President Commissioner of PT HIM, confirmed that his company is collaborating with PT Pindad.

"Yes, Pindad is collaborating with us," Jongkie said at ICE BSD Tangerang recently.

The detikOto team also witnessed the Maung being assembled at Handal's factory in Pondok Ungu, Bekasi, West Java. Jongkie did not disclose the number of Maung cars produced.

After Hyundai's departure, now PT HMI produces Chinese car also
