Sure but it's not like we need to throw $20 Million + to the dumpster, when the same work can be done with cheaper UAVs.

Current state of range can be misleading as the radar is also developed domestically and its parameters are not probably finalized and can be modified with the limiting factor being the power supply. Or maybe even that is not the limiting factor as they can probably work the radar with more power in short bursts.

I'm guessing the one they entered that NATO workshop with, right? That was years ago, they must've finalised by now.

The foundation is based on that, but it is a new product developed exclusively for Kızılelma.

If at the top right edge we are seeing Crimean peninsula, Sebastopol to Istanbul is ~345km.
So by comparison it has to be 160 Nautical Miles from where the KE is.

It's about time, hopefully we have a batch ready for the inventory within 12 months. Forget the Eurofighter or F16, Kızılelma will be our only hope at a "stop gap" until Kaan is ready. In my opinion if done right they'll be a better option than filling the inventory with more 4th gen fighters.

If we were to simply buy new F16s or Eurofighters, we'd still be at a disadvantage. But if Kızılelma is perfected and introduced in good numbers even adversaries with 5th gen fighters would shy away from any sort of confrontation (they already do, but have been getting very bold recently).
