If at the top right edge we are seeing Crimean peninsula, Sebastopol to Istanbul is ~345km.
So by comparison it has to be 160 Nautical Miles from where the KE is.

It's about time, hopefully we have a batch ready for the inventory within 12 months. Forget the Eurofighter or F16, Kızılelma will be our only hope at a "stop gap" until Kaan is ready. In my opinion if done right they'll be a better option than filling the inventory with more 4th gen fighters.

If we were to simply buy new F16s or Eurofighters, we'd still be at a disadvantage. But if Kızılelma is perfected and introduced in good numbers even adversaries with 5th gen fighters would shy away from any sort of confrontation (they already do, but have been getting very bold recently).

It will take years until Kizilelma is combat ready they just started avionics/munitions integration. Most likely Anka will be the first platform to be combat ready simply because it’s mission profile is different

Kızılelma needs a better engine to be fully capable but even with a lesser engine it is fearsome as it is expendable.

i dont know if can spot targets from 100km but technically it should be able do IRST duties although compared to a dedicated it would come short the f35 can use eots for irst but the range is shorter than the one of the eurofighter
Also does anyone know if the sensors around the aircraft are DAS or ir?

yes kizilelma is nice weapon but cant replace manned aircraft like eurofighter / rafale and i doubt about its steath at best can be 0.5 m² rcs half of Rafale .
İt needs 15k lbf engine and steather design

I am waiting for the twin-engine versions of both KE and ANKA. Those will be the real deal.

Agreed, it's woefully underpowered. Hopefully TF10000 is ready as soon as possible.

One thing I like about Baykar is that they quickly pump out prototypes. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a twin engine variant soon.

I don't see any reason why wouldn't the majority of both IRST and Radar processing be onboard just like a manned fighter jet. They would only transmits the things they detect/track which still is hard to do but nothing compared to video feed. Only exception to that would be Radar on SAR mode

I agree with @TR_123456 about his comment on the KE being a joke with the current engines.
KE need TF6000 at least. But definitely TF10000 to come to fruition.

Anka-3 too needs TF6000 to perform as a 5th generation stealth plane. It may even benefit from using TF10000 if heavier take off loads are going to be present.

Using twin engines in KE will make it more potent and increase its agility further with a higher top speed. It will also allow a bigger plane to be built with more payload carrying capacity without having to detract from performance. It will also allow a better supersonic flight capability.

For Anka-3 the twin engines will only help with increasing payload capacity whilst enlarging the plane. Due to its flying-wing design, Anka-3 is really not structurally suitable for supersonic flight.

But once furnished with those engines, these two planes will open totally new avenues for our airforce.
