The T629 with TS1400 turboshaft engine would have been a more suitable solution, but i think the military TS1400 variant won't be ready before 2023.

Looks like the competition will be between AH-64E Apache and Mi-28NM helicopter.

It is believed that three helicopters are initially sought, though more could follow in the future. The platform needs to fire upon both ground and air targets, but there is no mention of naval targets.

From what it looks like from the current political situations and the US pressure, there's no way to bypass the agreements; it's going to happen sooner or later. But the point is, do these agreements matter when it's just 4 pieces of helis, not to mention especially for the UN Mali mission purposes? By the way, the Bell helicopters that BAF operates, is their maintenance done inside the country or in the US?

If the heavyweight helicopter requirement has been stripped from the tender, then instead of the T-129, the army would be better off getting the original A129 Mangusta imo and if we consider other logic.

Army to procure 4 attack helicopter and BAF to procure 8. So, it is totally 12.

Army's requirment wasn't heavy helos in the first place. That is exclusively BAF's requirment.

T129 phase 2 is superior to older A129.

When the tender was floated probably back in 2021, the T-129 did not meet all the requirements as far as I remember, making its chances very low compared to the Mi-28, Apache, and the most expected one AH-1z. But the equation changed after the war last year. BAF's helicopters aren't also coming anytime soon, especially after selecting the Mi-28 just prior to the war and recently after the request for the immediate air support requirement from BD after European forces will be pulling out of Mali.

The funny thing is, the BA tender was for only 3 helicopters initially, and now we see 4.

BTW, I was trying to say the BD armed forces are already familiar with the AW helicopters similar to the Russian Mi helos and also more AW are coming, not to mention the company is well established, partnered with a local company, and already has contracts. AW249 looks promising too.

"...According to SIPRI, approval has been granted for the engines of the T129 ATAK helicopters to be sold from the U.S. to Bangladesh." @Afif

Yes, saw that from SIRPI few days ago. Waiting for the official contract to be signed. (Likely Within few months, definitely this year)

But this is technically the wrong thread. (Lol) Army's dedicated attack helicopter program is a dead end for the time being. (Hopefully forever, don't need two services operating the same thing for the same reason)

This is Air Force negotiating with Tusas for 6 T129. But there are indication it might include a larger package under G2G deal. Including HISAR O+ MRSAM and some other ammunitions from Aselsan/Rocketsan.

Ohh, wasn't the air force one for a larger heavier one?

Yes, but they realised neither AH64E nor MI28NE is feasible. Tusas T129 appears to be the best option considering everything.
