No doubts the Iranians are taking an absolute ass pounding. The enemy gets to bomb them relentlessly pretty much uncontested. But the telling thing is that despite all this iranians can keep sending rockets and drones into isreal.

the iranian regime is pretty dumb. Their getting ass pounded and their leaders are being exterminated like its nothing. That's why what's going on seems quite impressive to me. A dumb regime, no air force, no real navy, no air defence, no real strategy, yet they are able to keep sending rockets out to isreal. If such a backward nation can cause this sort of trouble to the USA, then moving forward its not going to look good for the american image of being a global power.

When we pay attention to the past few decades, the iranians have been reckless and helped bring the region to this failed point. Their geopolitical moves ultimately has only harmed the Muslim middle east.

A US F-35 fighter jet made an emergency landing at US air base in the Middle East after it was struck by what is believed to be Iranian fire, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

Capt. Tim Hawkins, a spokesman for US Central Command, said the fifth-generation stealth jet was “flying a combat mission over Iran” when it was forced to make an emergency landing. Hawkins said the aircraft landed safely, and the incident is under investigation.

“The aircraft landed safely, and the pilot is in stable condition,” Hawkins added. “This incident is under investigation.”

The incident would be the first time Iran has hit a US aircraft in the war started in late February. Both the US and Israel are flying F-35s in the conflict; the aircraft costs upwards of $100 million.

The emergency landing comes as senior US officials continue to claim widespread success in its campaign against Iran. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Thursday morning that the US is “winning decisively” and that Iran’s air defenses have been “flattened.”

Probably hit by one of the same missiles we got to learn over the last 2 years, 358 or 359. These are slow burning, relatively small missiles and come with IIR and optic guidance. No radar lock and very small footprint as well as thermal signature due to its tiny engine; so no RWR or MWR warning. If the aircraft was flying slow and low, it is very possible that it could be targeted and engaged in an ambush. It being able to limp back also increases the possibility that it's one of them, their warhead is small.

my own analysis is

1) f35 was on full thrust which is wired since it would give away its position
2) stealth fighters are vulnerable to detection when their internal weapons bays is open and it's usually opens when they need to hit a target
3) stealth aircrafts are in danger of detection by specific radars at close range. chines even have radar drones to detect stealth aircrafts on the air ( radar drones on air reduces the distance between radar and stealth aircraft )

so probably f35 hit its target and was on full thrust to getaway when it got hit by AD

This is confirmed by the CENTCOM spokesperson now too. (confirmed as in they've admitted it with their usual avoidant description)

Iranian missiles have accuracy of about 200 m. Plus more than 90% of them are intercepted.

They can only terrorize civilians.

Iranian Majid air defense systems or Izdeliye-358/359 missiles were presumably used. The F-35 was hit by a heat-seeking missile. The damaged F-35 made an emergency landing at an airbase in the Middle East. The F-35's downing demonstrates the aircraft's high survivability and vulnerability to simple air defense systems. Had Iran used any more powerful air defenses, the aircraft would have inevitably been shot down.
