Well, Oman and Qatar might need the planes to defend their countries???So what?
Nice to have but for us that would be money wasting if its intended use would be against Drones. We are also one of those 10, apparently by the wording.
What a difference a year makes - after every eurofighter partner operator told me in 2025 that they had no plans to fit APKWS for counter-drone, BAESystemsAir tells JanesINTEL and others at Warton today that there is now strong interest from all 10 partner and export customers, following recent successful RoyalAirForce fielding. "It is a fantastic capability!"
Well we currently we use F-16s with AIM-9s or even AIM-120s so..Nice to have but for us that would be money wasting if its intended use would be against Drones.
couldn't we integrate cirit on them with özgürWell we currently we use F-16s with AIM-9s or even AIM-120s so..
Bro have you checked how much a 70mm hydra class missile is in UK? Plus how much UK is going to charge you for that missile? Plus they buy the missiles from US. UK MOD paid over40000 dollars a piece for them 3 years ago (31.2 million dollars for 768 missiles)Even if our defense industry is developing that solution, having UK's tested version would be a nice addition.

Our Cirit costs 19000 dollars. The money spent stays in the country. It can do the same job. (10000 pieces sold to UAE for 190 million dollars)

You are correct re prices. That is why I edited my post. But nevertheless if we are able to integrate Cirit on to F16s, the cost to us, should be substantially lower than the current quoted Cirit price to foreign customers. Currently It is estimated to be around 25000 dollars a piece. Two points.
Cirit needs a bit more work for modification, although it is entirely doable. But unlike APKWS, Cirit is canistered; would require a different launcher design.
Re the Cirit sales figure, I think that's from the 2013 sale. You should think about the inflation as well. USD lost like 40% of its value since then. Old prices pre 2020 don't mean anything anymore.
Do correct me if I remember wrong but Cirit I believe is also based on the older FFAR; not Hydra-70. Regardless in its current form an F-16 can realistically only carry 8 Cirits at most without extensive modification. And we are low on fighters anyhow so this kind of duty should really be relegated to drones. You are correct re prices. That is why I edited my post. While the price they'd charge us would be high. I believe that TurAF will want them anyway just because it gives our defense industry the chance to study it and develop a domestic product just as good. It will most likely be a click on-click off solution of sorts so we'll be deciding when and which jets that will have the solution.Bro have you checked how much a 70mm hydra class missile is in UK? These prices may vary depending on customers they are sold to, and the quantity of the sale -economies of scale-. But it has to be remembered that the Cirit in unguided form is under 2 thousand dollars. If we are manufacturing it the cost of it to our airforce is going to be substantially lower.
