one of your female boxers secured bronze....I think first time ever for Pakistan.
It is ridiculous though this CWG, how many sports they cut out that India traditionally medals heavily in like:
- Wrestling
- Shooting
- Badminton
- Hockey
This affects Pakistan medal count too. Don't know why that was done this time, this CWG almost doesnt count compared to other CWGs.
India Boxers are doing very well though this time.

Our biggest hope for a gold failed in the javelin throw. Arshad Nadeem the reigning Olympic and CWG champion failed. Finished 7th. Has been battling injuries. He's 30 years old now. Career may be over

I watched some of the bouts.... IND has made huge progress here...from 2002 when they won one gold boxing medal in CWG for first time (given size of India how late that is already).
Final tally this games in boxing was dominant record:

7 golds, winning half of everything on offer.
As recently as 2014, India got no golds at all in boxing....just silvers and bronzes....and from then on the gold strike rate in CWG boxing was about 3/16 (less than 25%) for India in all events.
So sudden increase to 7 this time is huge and bodes very well for continued growth and conversion to performance in olympics hopefully.
Indeed with no shooting, table tennis, badminton, hockey and wrestling etc this time (that generally provided the main bulk in previous games like I mentioned before) because Scotland was cheap in not having that for whatever dumb reasons.....it was boxing this time that took IND final tally to the double digits and making up more than 50% of india total gold:

Sports in Pakistan like every thing else is a disaster. The talent is plentiful but there is zero government interest and support. There is zero corporate interest and support - except for cricket
which gets its share of the ICC profits - 100m$ .On top of that whatever miniscule funds the government provides is eaten up by the various sports boards for their perks and benefits - corruption and nepotism is rampant even in cricket.
When Arshad Nadeem won his gold medal
at the Paris Olympics his family paid for his training and other expenses. We don't treat our sports heroes properly, eg IK and many others.
In India it's the total opposite.

I wouldn't say India is total opposite. It is mixed bag and many sports suffer from same apathy, corruption, slop etc....and very much because of cricket craze/inertia focus from the larger population....and how this hogs finances and generates corruption there too that soaks up resources from other sports in the end (basically a kind of inflation instead of investment).
Some have just managed to get some cohesiveness and institutional drive to surmount this....but still long way to go to produce a good top 10 consistently to send to olympics and medal consistently etc in those disciplines.
Yes I heard about Nadeem family doing everything for him pretty much....it is pathetic state of affairs in Pakistan that squanders who knows how much natural talent+trainability+investment+institutional drive etc.
