Hele sükür, amma da sürdü bu Hurkus projesi. Insallah MMU projesi daha iyi yönetilir
I guess you meant: 😀
Thank goodness! Finally! This Hurkus project took a long time!
I hope the TFX project is managed better!
My thought exactly too!

Was there a report from the SSB President about the Hurkus B engine? I think a TEI representative had previously said that the TEI-PD 170 engine would be integrated into the training aircraft.

Hurkus uses a 1500HP class turboprop engine. A Diesel engine with 170HP will not be suitable!

During November 1991, the maiden flight of the KT-1 took place, after which the flight testing programme formally commenced.
During 2000, the first KT-1 Woongbi was handed over to the RKAF; deliveries had originally been scheduled to commence two years earlier.

It took S.Koreans 9 years from maiden flight to introduction into S.Korean AirForce

Turkey will have done it in 8 years, if what has been posted is true.

What's with the cynicism, it's Friday for gods sake!

Basically the type of engine I mentioned is wrong. But surely somewhere it was mentioned that there is engine development for the Hurkus B. Does anyone know details?

I guess you meant TS1400. TEI general manager stated that when the turbine gearbox is added to TS1400, it can be easily used on Hurkus

The TS1400 engine will be integrated into the T129 ATAK & T625 Gökbey helicopters. I do not recall any reference to a TS1400 engine remodeling to the requirements of the Hurkus B. There was direction from TEI in a statement from its representative but there were no details. Do you know anything more?

Core engine can be converted to other variants easily. TEI manager talks about this engine family in the video.

I think the Hürkuş project was also a learning project for TAI. An easy piece of project that they can experiment with rather than deliver quickly. I had once met the person heading the project on an occasion. He said that they developed an airfoil from scratch for the wings and that the F35 had 35 plies of carbon fiber fabric in places. Afterwards when I told a renowned Turkish aviation professor (ITU) that they developed the wing profiles from scratch he didn't believe it. He kind of looked down on his colleagues. This was like 5-6 years ago. I have no regrets that they took all the time they could to develop the plane further and hopefully mature the plane to a respectable performance. Todos kudos to the perseverant TAI for all the hard work.
