There is something off about the design of Tulga but I can't put my finger on it. It doesn't feel like it could meet the military expectations.(I am very well aware that the aesthetic design doesn't mean anything when it's come to technical performance)
It looks like a civilian car.

The Initial Order for 6x6 and 8x8 APCs from FNSS

> 100 IZCI type 6x6 and 8x8

> 12 PARS III 6x6 MKKKA
-> Apparently this order has ben revised to at least 15

Manufacturing line at FNSS with the 14 and 15th Vehicle.

- > This comes after the increase from 260 to 344 Vehicles in the STA Project. FNSS is on a winning Streak ! Especially with PARS IV yet to be reveiled.

Nurol Makina vehicles make inroads in North Africa

Ejder Yalçins on patrol with UN peacekeepers in Mali. (UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali)

A video released to mark the 65th anniversary of the Royal Moroccan Armed Forces (RMAF) on 14 May included a brief section showing RMAF personnel operating an Aselsan remote weapon station from inside an armoured vehicle that was not otherwise shown. An industry source confirmed to Janes that the footage showed the interior of an Ejder Yalçin.

Nurol Makina told Janes it could not comment on whether Morocco has ordered the 4×4 protected mobility vehicle and Aselsan has not identified the kingdom as one of its customers as yet.

Meanwhile, amateur video footage and photographs recently released via social media have shown Chadian soldiers operating Ejder Yalçins.

Turkey told the UN Register of Conventional Arms that it exported 20 unidentified armoured personnel carriers to Chad in 2018.

It is likely that Chadians were operating the Ejder Yalçins that have been seen in photographs released by the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA) showing the type in service with one of its contingents since at least September 2020. Chad has contributed 1,400 troops to MINUSMA.

The chairman of Turkey’s Presidency of Defense Industries said in December 2020 that Tunisia had placed USD150 million worth of orders with Turkish companies that included ones for Ejder Yalçıns, TAI Anka unmanned aerial vehicles, and BMC Kirpi armoured vehicles.

What's making you angry bro?

Turkish soldiers form the bulk of this force, basically if the Russians make a move -which they will- these soldiers would have to be deployed in these so-called allied countries in an alliance where there is absolutely no benefit for us. They are cannon fodder.

Then again NATOs end is nearing, lets just play along for the time being, I guess.

Shaking my head at all those people thinking that NATO is dead or that Turkey will ever leave it.

Have to shake my head as well for the NATO shills defending an irrelevant alliance when it's clear that the focus is now in another part of the world much to the consequence of the small and irrelevant countries which form the bulk of NATO.

Whatever, we will be out of it, whether u like it or not.

The real exciting thing behind those small guys is the HAVELSAN project aiming at giving them the capability to conduct autonomous operations coordinately with other UGVs, UAVs, USVs and even more excitingly UUVs including in GPS denied areas. When the base part is completed and the system works good with the vehicles of that size I don't see a problem of integrating the system in bigger and deadlier platforms.

From HAVELSAN's website regarding the smaller vehicle on the left and their plans for the whole system:

HAVELSAN, which is preparing to launch the middle class unmanned ground vehicle this year, will enable unmanned land, air, underwater and surface vehicles to communicate with each other and work together with the unique algorithm it is working on.

HAVELSAN has come to an end in the unmanned ground vehicle it has been working on for a while. The company is preparing to enable unmanned land, air, underwater and above vehicles to talk to each other and perform joint tasks with the algorithm it is working on.

HAVELSAN Training and Simulation Technologies Deputy General Manager has been conducting various studies on autonomous systems since 2018. In this context, R&D studies are carried out in the fields of Swarm Robotic Flying Systems and Robotic and Autonomous Land Systems.

As a result of the studies, a mid-level unmanned ground vehicle prototype was designed and developed in a short time in 2019. Driving with a prototype vehicle and testing in the field continue.

The mid-level unmanned ground vehicle prototype is compatible with its physical environment from the autonomous vehicle control unit to the engine control system, from the battery monitoring system to the data fusion unit with environmental sensors such as LIDAR and RADAR, from the artificial intelligence module to the health condition monitoring system, from the camera and imaging systems to the remote control unit, stable and It is being developed as a robust unit.

HAVELSAN Unmanned Ground Vehicle, which is 150cm in length, 100cm in width and 60cm in height, weighs 350 kilograms. The vehicle with an electric motor can accelerate to 7 kilometers per hour. The vehicle operates with more than 2 hours of operation time.

A "directorate" was established for unmanned systems
HAVELSAN Training and Simulation Technologies Deputy General Manager Mehmet Akif Nacar gave information to the AA correspondent about their work in the field of unmanned systems.

Stating that they made important developments after exhibiting the unmanned ground vehicle at the International Defense Industry Fair (IDEF) in Istanbul last year, Nacar stated that they have completed the structuring in this area within the company, established a department at the directorate level for autonomous vehicles and more than 20 personnel. He said they were commissioned here.

Stating that they are conducting R&D studies with own resources for autonomous systems, Nacar stated that they aim to develop autonomous vehicles in 4 different categories: unmanned land and air vehicles, surface and underwater vehicles.

"Swarm Reconnaissance"
Mehmet Akif Nacar emphasized that as HAVELSAN, they are working on the development of their algorithms and autonomous control rather than improving the mechanics of vehicles.

Reminding that the Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear Threat Detection System was installed on the vehicle when they first exhibited the vehicle, Nacar said:

"Currently, there is still that system. Many different communication systems have also been brought in relation to it. When desired, the payload can be another system such as reconnaissance surveillance instead of CBRN. We also started our tests on autonomy on swarm reconnaissance, we developed the autonomous algorithm. A single vehicle can work autonomously. We are also developing swarm reconnaissance system that can perform various tasks in the form of a swarm rather than working alone. Various tests have been carried out, mission-related tests have also been carried out. Especially outside, snow, mud, rain and terrain environment tests have been done. The performance of the vehicle is very good. and we will be developing new systems using similar technologies in surface vehicles. "

Countdown to mass production
Noting that they have covered a good distance in a short time like 1 year with a very enthusiastic, high-tempo team, Nacar said, "This year, we will make the vehicle ready for duty. It will be able to serve according to the request of the institutions. it will be in a state to start production. " said.

Pointing out that the Defense Industry Presidency has projects in various phases on unmanned ground vehicles, Nacar said:

"We chose a middle class vehicle for ourselves, but we are ready for any task that can be given to us in the form of developing sub-systems in areas such as large type and unique vehicles."

Original algorithm work
Explaining that swarm capability is included in the road map of the next year (2021), Nacar stated that R&D studies have started and that they are working on a unique algorithm.

Stating that they are conducting their studies on autonomous vehicles with the concept of "joint operation", Nacar said:

"We are planning to develop unmanned vehicles on 4 different platforms. Therefore, we are talking about a lot of intelligence where air, land, surface and underwater platforms can make joint operations. We will do this phase by phase. This is an important technological development. It has a development course, R&D, testing processes. We started with unmanned ground vehicles, then we will continue with air and water vehicles. Since we will use the same protocols, algorithms and systems in all of them, we will be able to plan them as a group as a single system that can communicate and coordinate with each other. "
