You need hand gun owners around to stop a criminal shooter from shooting innocent people.

I understand that argument, but Texas just made it even easier to carry guns. In short, no longer doctor check that you are sane, no check up, and you don't need a license to have a gun. If this isn't the first step towards arming for a civilwar I don't know what is.

If a criminal wants to hide a gun they will hide it whether legal or not.

I dont see Tyrone tucking a glock in his pants with police permission in places where its illegal.

People of armed nation are usually nice and gentle.

Disarming innocent people doesn't protect innocent people.

Sure but should effort not be made to take the guns off Leroys, Tyrones and Lateshas instead of distributing them like candies?
Impossible, they buy them illegaly and finding them is a chance occurrence.

Taking guns away from people in broad Liberal way will just mean criminals have access to guns and lawful citizens don't.

From what I read in that post. They are making it easier to get your hands on a gun. At 21 I’d say they barely qualify. Granted no one shags his/her boyfriend. No mental check up means, mr. Psycopath can get one too.

I just think this is a bad decision. Instesd of tightening they’re loosenimg.

I guess nobody thinks that a drunk person can go out into the street and shoot people :) @Kaptaan If I am not wrong , you are a police officer in England. What do you think, as a cop, about the civilian population having a gun easily?

No, they are making it so anyone can concealed carry it without a license. If you can legally own a gun, you should be able to carry a gun concealed. Open carry has been legal without a license in many states.

Concealed vs Open carry

Handguns are easy to get, I could get one shipped in 80% kit form without a background check and I just have to do some milling and use a lathe to finish the frame and could have a functional one in a day or less.

It doesn't happen nearly as much as the media inflates it considering there are hundreds of millions of guns here you would expect a lot more mass shootings. Maybe 0.1% of lawful gun owners end up using them in a illegal manner.

Correction. My brother is a police officer in South Yorkshire Constabulary. I can certainly tell you my brother is absolutely opposed to civilians having guns and I agree with him 100%. He has done stint in the ARV unit or armed response vehicles. The primary reason is more guns leads to -

  • more probability of guns being used
  • more probability that a adverse incident like a tussle might lead to situation very quickly escalating to guns being used with far more chance of a outcome involving deaths.
  • more probability of accidents

Now I can see however that there might be circumstances where guns might be needed but those would be applicable only when society has collapsed into anarchy or civil war and it's every man for himself. Of course under those extentuating grounds it would make sense for everybody to arm themselves. But the whole point of a civilized state is we as individuals make a compact with the state wherein it has monopoly over violence and in return it affords each citizen safety.

If that fails then like I said go and arm yourself like Rambo ....

How does your brother view American Police Training and their counterparts in general on other forums I have interacted with folks from Europe some are pretty critical of American Police training for being too quick and cheap at times

Liberals ruin their state and than move to come ruin the next state so fucc them all the way.

You can see them flocking from California to Texas, and from the North to the DMV area as well which I know locally.
