Wow, massive aid package by Japan 🇯🇵 has just been announced. The Japanese will provide Ukraine with $12.1 Billion usd worth of macro financial aid. The first tranche, worth $4.7 Billion usd, will be delivered by the end of February.

This marks, by far, the largest donation from a non-NATO member since the outset of the war.

For context, Ukraine could buy all 800,000 of the artillery shells outside of Europe that the Czechs have sourced, for approximately half of the $4.7 Billion Japan will send this month.

That's crazy. Has there been any response from Russia on this yet?

Canada 🇨🇦 will provide Ukraine with 800, R70 Sky Ranger UAS, dual purpose, surveillance / ordinance drop drones. The value of the package is $95 million dollars. Each drone is valued at approximately $118,000. One has to wonder if that money could not have been better spent on a cheaper drone options, I a significantly greater quantity.

$95 million would have also purchased Ukraine 40,000 artillery shells off the Americans, which Ukraine NEEDS right now.

They'll bitch, moan and throw a fit as per usual and the Japanese (who despise the Russians) will continue flipping them off.

In a non-nuclear scenario, there isn't a damn thing that Russia's Pacific Navy could do to the Japanese Naval Fleet, supported by the U.S. Navy, that wouldn't lead to the complete annihilation of Russia's blue water navy. Russia has lost 1/3 of their Black Sea Fleet, including the fleet's flagship, to a country without a Navy... Japan would brutalize them.

Short answer is that Putin will sit by and "take it". He has no other choice.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian 'men' are busy fleeing towards Romania and winning Twitter wars .

Maybe Dmitri, Sarah Ashton Cirilo, Ponomarenko and their likes should do heavy lifting instead of trashing the internet?

Ukraine is in dire need of men you know

Apparently, Ukraine 🇺🇦 received a much needed, fresh batch of 122mm artillery shells today from an undisclosed Eastern European nation that is producing them abroad, in conjunction with domestic company Ukrainian Armor, which produces mortars and mortar shells for the Ukrainian military.

Ukraine uses the 120mm shells daily with their D-30 towed howitzers and their 2S1 Gvozdika self-propelled howitzers and is in dire need of as many as they can get.

My guess is that the shells were manufactured in either Bulgaria 🇧🇬 or Poland 🇵🇱, both of whom have notable artillery shell production capability and actively use the 122mm shells in their respective militaries

Many, many, many more deliveries of these types are needed.

Period of weakness in the German economy could continue

German economic output contracted in the final quarter of 2023, according to the February Monthly Report. Fourth-quarter real gross domestic product (GDP) fell by a seasonally adjusted 0.3% on the quarter according to the Federal Statistical Office’s flash estimate, after virtually stagnating in the first three quarters of 2023.

YES!

No problem. Just continue with billions of aid to Ukraine and importing millions of workless migrants.

For the last time... The West doesn't care about arbitrary freedom.

We care about our own selfish interests, as does everyone else in the world. We're simply getting an exceptional price to neuter the Russian army for a generation, expand NATO on Russia's border and piss Putin off to no end, while he gets to play the role of "bad guy" because he started this conflict.

Ukrainians, who are fighting for the ability to determine their own future and not wind up a vasal state of Russia, like Belarus, are willing to die in defense of their country. We're getting a historically cheap price to hurt Russia and we don't even have to put the lives of our military personnel on the line because somebody else is willing to do that instead? Who wouldn't take that deal!?

By time the costs are split up between the various countries helping Ukraine (many of whom have big economies), the relative cost is peanuts.
The West has been at war for 500 years with everything non-Western. Behind the beautiful facade of your “humanity” lies the terrible, ugly, completely inhuman face of the “progressive part of the world”, which, without unnecessary sentimentality, chooses its next victim in the East. But only those countries that are once affected by this understand this. Like Afghanistan, Iraq, Yemen and dozens of others before them.
Western - Christian - countries have created a wonderful society. There is wealth, progress, culture, fair laws and humanism. This is undeniable.
But their so-called Christian charity and humanitarianism are for themselves; this does not apply to non-Christian countries. They call themselves "first world".
The rest are second and third world. They can hardly tolerate the “Second World”, hiding a grimace. The “Third World” for them is no longer people.
Look where all these so-called "international organizations" are headquartered. The UN, The Hague and other Geneva... They are all located in Christian countries. . And all the so-called “international laws” were written by them. And they themselves are the first to violate them. The laws were not written for them!
Look what's happening in the world! These are all the “fruits” of Western domination! But the West says: “No, you are barbarians! Not we. We are the West, cultured and virtuous Christians.”
But, apparently, they have already realized that their dominance in the world is coming to an end. And now they have gone completely wild.
They are already prudently preparing to destroy their own kind - Christians. And it seems that they will no longer kill and destroy with conventional weapons. They have already begun to prepare public opinion in the “progressive part of the world” for a nuclear war.

Call 40 million Ukraine a “proxy-nation”? It's horrible

This is your entire Humanism. Nothing new :(

Russian construction of new fortification lines in Krasnolimansk. Near Lyman

looks like Russia is expanding a new defensive line, could point out that Russia does not intend to open a new offensive in this front. Meaning no likely advance towards Slaviansk like some reported before

It's not about being humane. It's about being self-interested, like everyone on the planet and warring with those that take issue with our values. You reference Christianity, but Islam is just as radical. The Quran literally calls for the death / jailing of non-believers (with a couple caveats). Societies have no business being run by antiquitated religious values, established in archaic times. There is no need for religious zealots, of any religion, to force their people into poverty and suffering, in an attempt to remain separated from the rest of the globalized world.

We live in a world that is dominated by alliances. Those alliances have foundational principles. Nations that adhere to and abide by those principles are welcomed into the alliances that they best align with.

The West is not the "bad guy" in this story. But we're not the "good guy" either. We're simply one of the alliances, one of the actors, through a variety of networks, in the world.

Christianity and Islam is quite different. Radical is a subjective description.

Quran literally doesn't call for death/jailing of non-believers. At worst, It talks about dominance of Muslims. If you are not okay with it, then it calls for a fair dual. That is not the same as about going on a killing spree for sake of killing non-believers for no reasons. Or at best, those warfighting commands were context dependent.

The problem with the West is not always what it does to protect its interest, rather, it is being dishonest about it. West uses democracy, human rights and similar nonsense to advance its geopolitical interests. You can't sell 'international rule based order' when you have double standards and selective applications of the rules.

Yes, you absolutely apply rules subjectively and arbitrarily. Literally every nation, alliance, religion, etc does it in support of their interests, every single day. It's called being self-interested. Name me the perfectly sincere, always trustworthy, never selfishly motivated and always completely honest countries of "Eastern World" that we Westerners should strive to be like?

I get sooooo sick of listening to people from the "Eastern world" paint themselves as victims, all while actively competing, in every domain possible, against Western interests, then complaining when the West tries to out maneuver them. It's that cry baby BS that shouldn't be fooling anyone. The "Eastern World" has plenty of countries that simply choose a more constructive approach to geopolitics and enjoy healthy relationships with the West, despite our differences.

Saudi Arabia, UAE, South Korea, Japan, Israel, Taiwan, India and Turkey are good (although not perfect) examples of countries that don't necessarily share the typical religious foundations in Christianity, nor the customs shared by the West. However, they have developed quality geopolitical relationships with the West, including financial and military alliances. Why? Because they come to the table with common interests and the idea of shared success and mutual benefit.

Russian Pilot who defected to Ukraine.

Got assasinated in Spain.

I knew the Russians will get to him. But the dumbass not only moved himself into Spain not some far away land. He was also keeping in contact with family back home which allowed the Russians to zero on his location.

Honestly he left his two co pilots for dead and defected. Basically considered treason.

You know the rule of law regardless if its Islamic Sharia, Western Secular Law, Chinese Law, Samurai law, Greek Law and Roman Law.

Treason= death.
