I meant the number of pro-CHP accounts and news
I didnt mean the institution itself
AKP has a whole troll Army, has the media and all the power. You think social media caused this? Why did they ruin the economy or filled the country with the 3rd world? You think the people are blind and stupid? The results of the last local election should have been a wake up call, but AKP decided to top everything and got the paycheck again.

Last time they lost Istanbul with a margin of ~9% (2nd run) today with 11,5%. In 2019 AKP lost in Ankara with a margin of 3,8% now it's 28,7%.
AKP 2019 won in Bursa with a margin of 2,6% now they lost with 9,3%. They lost Adiyaman and Kilis to CHP, i repeat Adiyaman and Kilis!

Exactly. That is why Germany, the US, France and so on are so stable. A change of government doesn't have a huge impact on their state policies or at least not so much like in Türkiye.
Not the US

The biden regime was so different from Trump.

Imamoglu received over 310.000 votes less than in previous election although all PKK and IYI votes went to him.
Voter turnout was significantly lower than in previous election, that's why you have to look at absolute numbers.

Yavas increased his votes by 335.000.
Depending on how Presidential candidate dynamics play out within CHP Yavas will likely jump CHP ship if he thinks he has a shot for the Presidency.

Earthquake spending, Presidential election spending and Simsek's disinflation programme limited Erdogan's possibilities.
By next election financial imbalances should be repaired and Erdogan's chances much better.

Serious pollsters like Hakan Bayrakci say voters punished Erdogan because they were waiting for an economical election gift.
When it didn't come they also didn't show up at the ballot box.

Today I listened to a Twitter space.
There some said the Karadeniz faction within AKP wonders about post -Erdogan AKP and they've no problem with Imamoglu as long as a Karadenizli is running the show. That limited the party efforts to make Kurum win at all costs and an AKP Istanbul candidate from Karadeniz may have succeeded.
Kurum may have caught a bird with his mouth but it wouldn't be enough to make some AKPians make them fight for him.

In next months depending on how Imamoglu sponsored PKK behaves in Istanbul we may see Kayums in Istanbul.
It's a double-edged sword for Imamoglu, he's hostage to HDP/DEM/PKK.
If PKK burns down Istanbul with their new-found breathing-space in Istanbul paralel to upcoming Iraq/Syria operations of TSK then Imamoglu deserves to be thrown into Silivri for his treacherous conducts.
Istanbul kanton barikat.

Nationalists have to gather up again under one roof, that senile fool Bahceli ruined the party and burned a lot of bridges internally, once a big player in Turkish politics to currently AKP's chihuahua. Mehmet Kemal Yazicioglu is probably the best option for the future leader of MHP, young, popular, his father was a important figure...
I would say it is very difficult, practically impossible. Anyway, I don't think that Mr. Yazıcıoğlu will be in such a situation at least in the near future.

As for the other issue, MHP, IYIP, Zafer etc., they formed nationalist block votes in various segments. Some of them appealed to the liberal but with high national feelings, some of them appealed to the secular but Turkist segment, some of them appealed to the conservative but right-wing voters who embrace Atatürk's principles and reforms... Every other faction had a role and function, from the largest to the smallest. The disintegration of nationalist politics (old MHP) was not a complete disintegration actually, anyway... Everyone knows that when you bring the voting mass of these parties together cumulatively, with the effect of the political developments in the country, the biggest political party of the country will emerge, but I believe that it will not be possible to melt this scale into a single party with the existing parties. I think 2026-2028 will be a years of many new beginnings.

Looks like AKP appointed the first trustee in an area they lost, with only 27% of the votes

AKP accounts are saying his right to be elected was withdrawn 2 days before the election, but I have seen no proof of this or the lawsuit as of yet

DEM said it was withdrawn 5 minutes before the end of the working day and not before:

The courts mandated he was allowed to run, so it was legal. He had served time in prison previously for this. If there was a problem with the law change the law, this is dirty authoritarian tricks.

If AKP was going to do this and annul the previous court decision, this is not a democratic process.

The "restoration of prohibited rights" decision issued by Diyarbakır 5 ACM on 4/4/2023 for Abdullah Zeydan, who was elected as the mayor of DEM Party Van Municipality, became final on 25/04/2023 due to the fact that it had not been appealed.
On 29/03/2024, the last working day before the local elections, the same court abolished the finalization report and the decision to return satisfied rights, hiding behind a legal oddity invention that "although the finalization report has been issued, a final decision cannot be mentioned due to the fact that the 'seen' process has not yet been duly carried out".
It is unacceptable that the will of the people of Van is stolen by circumventing the law and that the municipality is handed over to the AKP.
We call on the YSK to act in accordance with the law.
The CHP will uncompromisingly maintain its stance on the side of right, law and justice.

  • AKP people: He lost the mayor's position because he was a terrorist
  • CHP people: This is illegal, he should take back the mayor's position.
  • Rational people: He should have been in prison off-rip
AKP should have done things by the book. CHP should stop supporting these terrorism supporters under the guise of legality. We should sen them to jail for life and be done with it.

As expected
CHP is ensuring that they govern their municipalities well during the next 4 years. If they perform well during the next 4 years, then we may officially enter into a CHP-era and the AKP will eternally be buried
A good move nonetheless

CHP decided to establish an inspection board consisting of retired Court of Accounts auditors and inspect the party municipalities every 3 months
