I’m curious what the EW and weapon systems will be? Turkish or other manufacturers? Or as they usually do, a mixture of both?

Should be pretty similar to FMP, which is pretty similar to Istif baseline with some European stuff added in.

Türkiye's CANiK signs defense deals with Pakistan, Bangladesh, Azerbaijan at IDEF 2025

In a separate agreement, SYS will supply the Bangladesh Navy with new defense systems, including the CANiK M2 QCB 12.7x99 mm heavy machine gun and the VENOM LR, a low-recoil 30x113 mm medium-caliber cannon developed by UNIROBOTICS for counter-drone operations (C-UAS).

I wonder if Aselsan SMASH would have been a better choice. Didn't know anything about VENOM LR.

More like Trakon RCWS, which is equipped with Venom LR. It is wrong how they did write that part.

🔴 I confirmed [*got it confirmed]. İzmir (F-516) and İçel (F-518) have been sold to Indonesia. İzmit (F-517), on the other hand, will be delivered to the Turkish Navy.”

I, on the other hand, couldn’t find anything regarding this development.

@Umigami , @satria , @Lordimperator

EDIT:

Tayfun Özberk:

“I think these are early and bold tweets. How many times have such claims been made about ships [*sales] before, but none of them were sold? Unless we hear a statement from the highest authorities like the Navy Commander or the Minister of Defense, don’t fully trust any source. It’s better to wait.”

I agree with Tayfun Özbek, but I don't think the rumours are empty. IMHO, if there is backlash, SSB might change the delivery schedule of the ships. I think SSB is enthusiastic about selling İstif-class frigates as soon as possible to increase the chances of further sales.

I find it remarkable how Turkiye has made warships in the 2000-3000 tonnes class a MTS product rather than a MTO.

Turkey should just produce these and buyers will come running.

"The total value for achieving operational capability is approximately 265 million Euros, excluding VAT, less the NSM ship-to-ship missile launch system. The estimated acquisition value of the ship from Turkey, in the current configuration, is approximately 223 million Euros, excluding VAT. The delivery time is extremely short: almost 6 months, in the current configuration. The ship will then be equipped with the combat systems requested by the Naval Forces, in a shipyard in Romania," the Ministry of National Defence claims."

Desan had contracted/rented a shipyard in Romania this year. Maybe that facility will be used for the retrofit. Desan is one of the shipyards that will build a new Hisar Class ship.

Piece is not great on details. For one, there's no Hisar SAM on Akhisar, it wasn't delivered with one and there's no prototype for it even, only drawings. How can it be delivered with SAMs in 6 months if they don't exist yet. Same with Gökdeniz, it doesn't have one and it wasn't contracted with one. If Romania wants it, they need to sign another deal with Aselsan for it.
"We have this offer from the Turkish partner and it is an offer that we do not want to miss, because we have a lack of capabilities, this is known, all the equipment is NATO interoperable. The Turkish Naval Forces are among the ten naval powers of the world. All the equipment that is on board is of German production, all the motorization is German. The communications are from Great Britain and Italy, the armament is the 76 mm cannon is similar to the Oto Melara. It is the same 76 mm ammunition. The ship will cost 223 million euros, with additional systems 265 million euros. This is the price that is being put forward."

"The ship will be equipped with a system of two 35 mm automatic cannons, NATO interoperable ammunition, the American ESSM anti-aircraft system, which uses RIM-162 Evolved SeaSparrow missiles, with a range of 50 km. and of course the NSM anti-ship systems. The two missile systems, anti-aircraft and anti-ship, will be on all naval combat ships."

Rumour has it that it will be equipped with the mk56 vls for ESSM,as it can be mounted on deck.(6,8 or 12 module, probably 6 as they're counting the pennies).
