Famine is characterised by people being deprived of the food needed for minimum nourishment. The writer should be talking of low US agricultural production in 2026. I guess that lack of fertiliser / high cost of fertiliser due to the Iran conflict is largely responsible. Climate change, too - but many Americans are resistant to data showing that is linked to human activity.
