Poll One year anniversary of the Ukraine-Russia war. What will be the long term consequences of this conflict?

This is why TSK is investing so heavily in its Navy. TCG Anadolu isn't meant for the Med of Aegean. It is the first real attempt at expanding outwards. This is why I hope to see destroyers. I can't remember if I'm dreaming or if this is real, but I remember that a Turkic country established a...

Poll One year anniversary of the Ukraine-Russia war. What will be the long term consequences of this conflict?

Yeah exactly what I think. Especially now with the Iran stuff going on too. It seems like both the West and Russia itself overestimated Russian military power. I think there will be a Turkic bloc though. It'll be weird because it will be a completely new bloc. There's still hurdles in the way...

Poll One year anniversary of the Ukraine-Russia war. What will be the long term consequences of this conflict?

As the title says, what do you think the long term consequences of this conflict will be? Also, do you think that it has wiped out the prospect of a new Eastern bloc?

Political repercussions of the Kahramanmaras earthquake.

Holy crap. 61 lawyers have filled a criminal complaint against Erdoğan, ministers and other officials.

TR Aftermath of the earthquakes in Turkey's South-east

They've been reported for over a thousand years. Though cables might cause some of the flashes, I highly doubt the multicoloured instances of earthquake lights are caused by cables being disturbed. The sheer power at which two materials rub in a high magnitude earthquake would easily generate...

TR Aftermath of the earthquakes in Turkey's South-east

Flashes that look like lighting bolts are. But the flashes we are talking about happen in areas with no power cables too.

TR Aftermath of the earthquakes in Turkey's South-east

I believe the blue flashes are the result of rocks containing quartz colliding with other rocks. Colors are different depending on the material. The stress causes the chemical bonds in the rocks to break which makes the oxygen ionize, which then goes up and causes lights.

TR Aftermath of the earthquakes in Turkey's South-east

Whilst this is true, when the governments policies made the disaster more deadly than it should've been it's hard not to get angry. Not only were there problems with the safety of buiidings; Turkish Armed Forces role in the efforts have been restricted along with countless examples of corruption...

Yet AFAD isn't accepting jackets because they have beer brand logos on them. I have no words. Not even going to say what I was going to say.

Journalist Cemil Barlas: "Afad did not accept the donation of fleece jackets from these companies because they had the beer brand logo on them.. when I first heard it, I said it was a lie, but it turned out to be true.. this is a disgrace." No comment

TR Aftermath of the earthquakes in Turkey's South-east

Erdoğan has tried to tame TSK. He has done all he can to take power away from TSK such as removing Jandarma from TSK to internal affairs ministry's control. Also let's not forget that he sided with FETÖ and arrested top military staff. This mistake eventually lead to the coup attempt which could...

That's terrifying... how would they even fix that. Parts of the city will probably have to remain abandoned years down the line.

Are you saying that they crossed the border after the quakes? If so this whole situation is worse than I imagined. That's just another sign that every single thing must be approved by 1 person. In the past responses were quick.

TR Aftermath of the earthquakes in Turkey's South-east

That is the most ridiculous take I've ever heard. The more able-bodied men you have, the better. There are thousands upon thousands of destroyed buildings. Tens of thousands of potential survivors trapped. There simply isn't enough dedicated rescue crews to ensure that every building is searched...
