No not the sonar itself but the sonar consoles, or in other words, the Kongsberg CMS consoles. Some parts of the console were replaced from what I've heard, and that took quite long for some reason. In military procurement, it works as a contractual liability which is a bit different from your...

It depends on who was in charge of selecting the individual components, including the battery. When procuring the submarines, the Indonesian side would have laid out the Requirement Item Specifications. If they've only covered the ROC in the RIS and the selection of those batteries in...

I've dug a bit deeper and apparently that was a problem regarding sonar consoles on the first two ships. Since the CMS on Nagapasa class are not Korean, I don't think that is not something to blame DSME for.

I've just read the list you've gave me and frankly, it's hard to tell if those on the list are critical repairs. Lots of the listed maintenance items looks to be just a trivial routine maintenance work and since I'm not aware how frequently and for how long the Nagapasa subs are at sea, I cannot...

Thanks, it was hard for me to find anything other than the batteries since finding information is hard without knowing to read Indonesian.

Indonesia Indonesian Navy, Tentara Nasional Indonesia-Angkatan Laut (TNI-AL)

More details have emerged about Nagapasa class batch 2 deal. After signing the contract in April of 2019, the terms of the contract were supposed to come to effect from 30th of October 2019 and onwards, alongside the Indonesian payment. DSME on the other hand ordered several components for the...

Because "something less" is not a quality that DSCA accounts for. They only account individual components and approve. If there's a change of component, so does the details of what DSCA notifies to the congress.

I see, that makes total sense. Yeah, the weight(and physical dimensions) was also another reason I've brought up RAM, since the Mk.49 GMLS have a comparable system mass compared to Phalanx. I was quite aware that Gökdeniz might be too heavy. And those are some good points, too. So overall...

Right... still, might as well just leave that space as is for now and wait for either Gökdeniz ER or Levent. Maybe TDK could later take that Phalanx off and put it on another, newly built ship that needs a CIWS, though I still think that'd be unnecessary added procedure than to just wait for...

One way or another, doesn't change my conclusion.

Yeah, and the post I was replying to was asking "why there is no TVC on SİPER". My answer was that the "initial" maneuverability is not as important compared to HİSAR and therefore TVC is not needed.

I'm saying that you should differentiate between a TVC and a DCS.

I am aware of western embargos dating back to the 20th century such as the case concerning Cyprus. I also know that US is holding double standards with the implementation of S-400, as well as their not-so-optimal, to say the least, stance concerning the problems in Syrian and Iraq, especially...

Yes but that's with divert thrust control, not thrust vector. When launched at targets in its intended range, those motors burns out most of the times, even when it is a dual pulse motor, before it reaches the target. TVC is going to be a dead weight by then.

Any thoughts on why they are opting for 2 different kinds of CIWS? Seems like a weird choice to have 2 different gun based CIWS with comparable ranges. I'd think 35mm air burst fired from Gökdeniz would be just enough. If I have a choice, I would rather fit a RAM launcher where Phalanx is...

Glanced over the fact that you are a moderator yourself! Anyways, I suggest it's time to get back to Turkish SAMs instead of diplomacy and politics.

Yes, the already transacted Turkish payment is an issue and frankly, I hope that the US approves the F-16V to Türkiye ASAP. If not through F-16Vs, I hope they repay Tureky for the amount they've paid for their F-35s in other ways. I also wish that Türkiye would be able to solve the S-400 issue...

Since Siper is a long range SAM, it probably doesn't need a high initial maneuverability unlike lower-tier air defense such as Hisar.

Now the copium. The most proven lower-tier BMD, IAMD system is suddenly shit haha. And decades of experience of getting jammed, dodged, suppressed and destroyed by the F-16s, and more recently, TB-2s. Quite a feat indeed. I clearly remember how the Turkish government was arguing that removing...

I think it's a wrong thread. Should have been posted in Turkish Missile thread instead I feel? (https://defencehub.live/threads/turkish-missile-smart-munition-programs.334/page-176) @Cabatli_TR maybe you could move the post if @Yasar agrees?
