TR Altay Main Battle Tank & Related Programs

Altay is obsolete. Tanks of the 2030s will be inherently different with 3-man crew 50 tonnes of total weight Smaller volume and lower silhouette. Autoloader and unmanned turret Hybrid propulsion 130 or 140mm main gun. Next-gen internal combustion engines like American ACE opposed piston or MTU...

TR Altay Main Battle Tank & Related Programs

Waste of money. Better upgrade M60s than Leo1s. Leo1 is a 40-tonne tank. You can't just magically put 10 tons of armor on it. M60 weighs 60 tonnes. When it is upgraded it performs toe to toe with modern tanks. Sabra modernization proves that. If I were Greek MoD I would have upgraded M60s to...

    TR TF-X KAAN Fighter Jet

Wrong. I don't know where you found an empty weight of 14.150kg. I would like to see if you quoted it from somewhere but it looks very ambitious and too good to be true. Most experts expect the empty weight to be around 16000kg and the typical load of fuel+weapons in stealth configuration is...

    TR TF-X KAAN Fighter Jet

TWR is calculated with thrust/weight Kaan will have 2x35000 lbf engines. The typical payload of Kaan in stealth config is 10000kg=22000 lbs (internal fuel+weapons) The empty weight of Kaan is expected to be around 16000kg= 36000lbs Takeoff weight is 36000+22000=58000 lbs Thus TWR is calculated...

Yes, we can, but showing it friendly on screen doesn't mean those can't be shot at. IFF doesn't work that way. When we are hooked up to the EU network IFF codes will designate us friendly but luckily we have our own separate national IFF capability. We can use both of those as we see fit.

It works in our favor Captain Obvious. The sensor capability of the EU is far better than ours and we can stop sending data to the EU anytime we want in case of a confrontation with an EU country.

Lol, Turkiye is not buying any air defense systems from anyone. We are there to hopefully get a workshare and hook our national systems to the EU network.

Turkiye will certainly offer Kaan to BD but can the BD secure enough funds to make it happen? Because Turkiye lacks credit/financing options mainly offered by the Western countries with military purchases.

Pakistan probably discovered that such a small missile traveling at Mach 4 and pulling 40-50-60Gs needs state-of-the-art specialized subsystems like actuators which Pakistan has no hope of developing.

We need utility choppers and something to replace ATAK as the ATAK contract will end in 2028. ATAK II was never a priority. I don't know why TAI pushed it so hard.

    TR Industry, Science and Technology

Do you know what is an offset deal? The US has no incentive to buy 3 production lines from us for munition production. The cost of 3 production lines is peanuts for the US and even if we sell it for a cheaper price than our competition the US will take the hit and buy from another international...

This is mostly a political move. I don't expect Turkiye to buy anything and sellers like Israel won't provide anything to Turkiye.

Production of new Vipers in TAI facilities is a big bonus. TAI might even get additional orders from LM as F-16 orders continue from customers.

Some people speculate that it is a Russian orbital weapon system. Russia allegedly has an orbital WMD system or orbital nukes which gives Russia a space-based nuke or WMD capability.

No, It is not 1 kg it is one gram(0,5 gram matter+0,5 gram antimatter). Get your facts right.

    TR Foreign Policy & Geopolitics

Again why does that matter? Do you know how much energy is released from just a gram of matter-antimatter reaction? 9*10^13 joules. This is roughly equal to a nuclear bomb.

    TR Foreign Policy & Geopolitics

I heard something wild. Supposedly Russians invented a practical antimatter warhead. It is stronger than thermonuclear warheads but without any radiation. It is obviously BS and take it with a huge grain of salt.
