"TEI has been ordered to complete the production of the KAAN's engine by 2028. Prof. Dr. Akşit: "The materials are quite expensive, F-35 engine was completed in 15 years, we're asked to have it complete by 5 years. The cost total is estimated to be around 3-5 billion USD."" Made in a shorter...

So are ours. And what are the chances that our sensors will be able to detect them, before they detect us? The SSB seriously needs to convene a summit on assessing and countering the stealth jet and the BVRAAM threat looming on the horizon.

Funny stuff! You have no idea what F-35 and the Meteor missile is capable of, do you?

Their weights are similar but PT-6 generates more than 4x the power than the PD-170. As a prototype engine it's fine but we really need to step it up here. Turboprops should be simpler than turbofan engines after all.

I read your analysis on F-35 RCS and EIRS detection range, and I agree with your sentiment. F-35 has rendered all SAM systems virtually obsolete, it's simply just too late for these systems to detect it before it's well into its standoff missile range. Only platform to challenge it, is going to...

Considering F-35 is VLO as it stands, LO range may not be sufficient by the time our takes off. A VLO jet can fly unimpeded from angles not covered by passive IR sensors of the opposing jets and deep strike into enemy territory and sea assets undetected by SAM systems and ground radars. You...

I've been following updates on the daily, but didn't hear about new developments on the RAM coat aside from Aselsan's as part of a NATO joint radar absorbing materials study, alongside their RAPID software. If our jet will have comparable RCS to the F-35, it would be a massive success. Next...

The large caliber missiles are our aces in the sleeve, and should remain as such. The tests should be conducted in a clandestine manner.

While they did pave the way with the general design and the concept of "stealth", when it comes to engines they have a mountain of experience. They first developed the F119, with former experience from F100 all the way to 1950's, and then built the F135 from it. And we've seen the news of the...

Superb news. Poland and Romania's purchase of the TB-2 will boost its recognition as a "choice of developed armies", for further sales to other countries.

I stand corrected, apologies. But still, it'll require the same, if not more that sum, if it's to not only be in serial production and but to stand its ground against the fifth gen aircraft, in less than twenty years. Plus, the labour cost would be a minor factor in cutting-edge tech...

This might be classified but hopefully Kizilelma and the Anka III can operate in heavy EW environment, which will more than likely be the battlespace they will find themselves in. Developing a fully capable AI pilot would not only solve this issue but the comms range and delay as well. They're...

In modern combat what matters is that one spots the other earlier in their radar, beyond visual range. And so are autocannons and external pylons. It only has to carry BVRAAMs in its internal bays. Only that would be considered a legitimate, strategic asset useful against a modern adversary...

You know how to read? Or do I need spell it out that making a 1400SHP turboshaft engine for ROTARY aircraft is nowhere near the complexity of developing and testing a 35000lbf turbofan engine and making it fly a FIXED WING asset successfully? Not talking about tests or prototypes, but actually...

SCBs for TS1400 is comparable to that of a modern turbofan engine? How many of those small parts you consider are "trivial", will be when they operate in an engine with thrust upwards of 35000lbft? Do you know what tolerances the smallest bearings and rivets will need at those temps and...

Single crystal blades and thermal barrier coatings for starters. Technology that took Pratt and Whitney, and GE how many years to develop? Not talking about TS1400. Plus various other small tidbits, Mr. Mahmut Akşit himself said that they faced embargoes on fuel pumps, oil pumps, gearboxes...

    TR TF-X KAAN Fighter Jet

I'd love to be proven otherwise but looking at the Altay failure and how we're still using foreign turboprops I'm not convinced at all we can create a 5th generation turbofan engine which we need real soon to counter the Rafale, and soon the F-35, with zero outside help. Do you seriously think...

Well they do increase the RCS profile, but the real hurt comes from the C2 RF emissions when it comes to drones AFAIK. It could be resolved through making it fully autonomous which I believe Skunkworks already it has up its sleeve waiting to try it out on the nearing Pacific theatre.

People here seem to have forgotten the fact that RR, and by extension the UK is still the most important player in the TF-X project. Do I need to remind you that if RR decides to up and leave for any reason, this project is delayed for >25 years? That China with all it's money and industrial...
