Yeah assembling battleship mokit in 1/700 is pain in the ass, u know how many secondary guns, and the small part on yamato bridge. Roma battleship class is much easier to assembly.
If i remember they work together with france in scorpene percursor ssk before they got separate, spain with isaac peral, france with scorpene. And problem appear when spain wants to enlarge the sub to s80 class

Look at India or Brazil, in the 90s they able to built Uboat sub from HDW, and now they arent yet able to design ssk locally, instead they choose new tender .
