I'm sure part of decision they realized KE can't take off from Anadolu so they want a ship that can field it. It will be a Kızılelma carrier first and foremost

We don't have that kind of money. We can do a limited drone carrier and have minor benefits for a smaller sum. Even 20 kaan on a ship is 2 billion $ by itself (not to mention the cost of navalizing kaan for only 20 of them probably on ship at best) The cost of a carrier and the fleet to protect...

The impression I get from everyone I listened to is, MKE is like a monopoly on certain munitions and caused us many issues in wars with shortages and quality. Gürcan Okumuş was fed up with SSB and MKE and after being forced to quit SAGE hedecided they will do serial production properly in ASSAN...

Afaik F35 80 mil figure is not adjusted to inflation so misleading. But also still comes eith 35000$ + per hour to fly. That's 7 mil for 200 hours per year or 70 mil for 10 years.

Capable? Yes. Affordable? Unlikely. Algeria is buying su35 and su57. Egypt and uae are politically not positioned properly still. Nigeria does not have such infrastructureand budget. Ukraine and kazakhstan are not very likely either.

Hmm I mean, 150 Turkey at least short term, 50 Indonesia, and then maybe Saudi and Spain 50 each at best? Who else is really interested? Consider that pakistan is already buying chinese aircraft and azerbaijan is buying j17 and kaan is overkill for them. Oh maybe qatar one day

Well they are partner in SCAF and F35B doesn't really have an alternative for Juan Carlos I. They could be aiming for upgrading Juan Carlos for KE or build a new carrier with us to use with drones and use harriers in that duration. Buying F35A for them isn't realistic since they are also buying...

Fuel cost can be much lower which is a significant cost for its lifetime. But with sensors etc it likely won't be too cheap. 30-50 mil each likely

Ramjets require an initial speed, thats why it's different for sam vs a2a. SAM are better of solid because ramjet also depends on air and would have difficulty with high altitudes.

Not to mention, china also starter with stobar with Russian style carrier and jets and now are moving to Cato bar with their stealth jets. I think we would go a similar pace, but this also follows China's incredible growth. Our economy is stagnating. A better economy is required for all that.
