That is not really the issue as there is not huge (new) cost involvement to move LCA to TEDBF (compared to say cost + time for LCA from scratch)....especially relative to GDP and total wealth now (compared to the situation from say 1990 - 2010) Essentially TEDBF is the N-LCA argument iterated...

Yes the JV between GE and TEI was for production of blisk for CFM LEAP engine after all. Maybe TEI has found a process innovation within it.

You should see what it takes for some stuff to get "space qualified" sheesh (here in Canada, US etc). There is reason so much is from heritage era (both system and process) stuck there....though they do do the job (nothing big wrong with them its just it got leg in the door and qualified first...
