This is not a Marketing stunt. This is the first test flight of a manned aircraft. A lot of risk is involved. You never paint the aircraft on a first test flight

7 out of 33 engines failed early in the flight. Several others potentially operated below nominal. Really a hard problem to have this many engines. The Soviets went through the same issue with their moon rocket.

There is some truth to what you say, but your statement is not entirely correct. Yes, ethnic minorities are over represented in the ranks of the ruskies, however, still the vast majority of ruskies slaughtered are rus and not ethnic minorities.
