Would it have killed them to have painted the plane they paint the mock-up but not the actual plane, TAI sucks at marketing.

This is not a Marketing stunt. This is the first test flight of a manned aircraft. A lot of risk is involved. You never paint the aircraft on a first test flight

Then why did they paint the TF-X?

Even if it wasn't a marketing stunt having good PR is never a bad thing just look at Baykar, and how they market themselves.

Why does Ferrari use such ugly camos.

Even in press releases car manufacturers dont even use the official paint.
That doesn't translate, as the ugly camos are specifically designed to mislead people regarding how the car will actually look.

Hürjet having its first flight with its factory paint is normal, nothing to get worked up about.

Indeed I agree sometimes test planes dont even come with their official paint even use ugly colours because nothing is official.

By the looks of it, the TF-X shown might only be a ground test unit and the one currently in production will be the one flying.

@MADDOG, can you confirm?
As per my knowledge the production of the second prototype isn't scheduled to start until the completion of CDR. This prototype will fly.
