Sounds much more promising to me than a SAFRAN-GTRE tie up.

TR HÜRJET-Advanced Jet Trainer/ Light attack aircraft

I read a few posts in the last year or two on a British forum around the aircraft to replace Hawk for the RAF. It seems that there is an interest in all 3 GCAP partners using the same trainer, the M-346 being the suggested option.

    TR Propulsion Systems

Thanks for the info. I think the first engine is soon to start assembly. IIRC many of the components have already been machined. I believe that GCAP opted not to develop an adaptive cycle engine, possibly because Japan was very keen on the aircraft's development adhering to schedule. Perhaps an...

I know very little about jet engines. Does this cutaway model of the engine under development for the GCAP fighter give any clues about its features? https://aviationweek.com/defense/aircraft-propulsion/debrief-inside-gcap-fighter-engine

    Live Conflict Ukraine-Russia War

SAAB will supply Ukraine with 20 Gripen E, that number possibly increasing to 100+ in the future. However, SAAB'S annual Gripen E production rate is reported to be around 15 aircraft a year. Gripen E undelivered backlog Sweden - perhaps 45 Brazil - 25 Ukraine - 20 Colombia -17 Thailand - 4...

I am not sure how to view a defensive system that forces the attacker to use 15 drones for the tank to be destroyed. If APS does not stop the tank being destroyed, is it a big success? Possibly yes since it stopped the first 14 drones.

India India interested in Joining European 6th Gen FCAS Fighter Program

I don't see the point of TEDBF if AMCA can be navalised. India has spent 10 years talking to SAFRAN and RR about an engine for AMCA. I think it is time to make a decision and implement it. Helpfully I think RR has set a deadline of end 2026 for a decision on its offer or the offer lapses.

UK Army Unveils The NEW CHALLENGER 3 Main Battle Tank!

I would not denigrate it too much. Of 14 Challenger 2 sent to Ukraine in 2023, 12 or 13 remain. APS will be fitted to Challenger 3.

@blackjack This thing about population - both Russia and Ukraine have low birth rates and falling populations. I have family roots in several countries with birth rates that are below replacement level. Annual GDP per head in one of those countries exceeds 100,000 USD. That country has a small...

India India interested in Joining European 6th Gen FCAS Fighter Program

Fair enough. No 6G carrier fighter jet for India because nobody will make one tailored to India's needs, something India cannot do since it cannot make a 6G fighter of any specification. I don't see Dassault embarking on a 6G fighter programme without foreign funding (indirectly through a...

India India interested in Joining European 6th Gen FCAS Fighter Program

GCAP project is decided and the entry door to any involvement in development of the airframe closed 31st July as far as I understand. FCAS design would have better met Indian requirements (carrier compatible design, nuclear capable) so I guess that it is a case of trying to get involved in a...

We may see how stupid people are in a few months when Russian economic and financial figures feed through and the disruption and financial losses the Russian people experience become more apparent. Ukraine's economy and finances are not of great relevance since Europe is prepared to finance...

Not too good for the banks, I think because - some Wildberries traders will have borrowed from banks to set up and stock their business and will have gone bust - I believe Wildberries borrowed from banks to set up its business and may not be be able to both service its loans and rebuild...
