Oh shit, we can see where the engine is.
Sorry for the bad joke, don't worry mate shooting of a wing will down a drone anyway. In fact almost any hit will down drones, chance of drones surviving hits is almost zero.
Current drones cannot replace air superiority fighters, but aircraft did also not start with air superiority fighters. The first military aircraft 100 years ago where simple biplanes from which the pilot dropped the bomb by hand. Aircraft evolved in this 100 years.
Drones are at their relative...
For people who still are in the mood of look drones cannot replace fighter aircraft.
Let me tell you a secret, the drones have already replaced fighter aircraft (some of them)
Does SEAD (search and destroy) and CAS (Close Air Support) ring a bell? The US used the A10 for that and Russia the...
Well that's the wrong thinking part, each weapon has it's own merits and is not a replacement of something. A mortar doesn't replace a cannon, a machine gun doesn't replace a rifle. You have to use each weapon to it's own merits and using it in a right way it can become extremely dangerous.
Well TB2 destroyed many vested believes that drones would have minimal effect on battlefield, yet the drone became the worst nightmare of the enemies.
You are now voicing vested believes like too big, bulky, too slow. Who knows maybe you are right, but I like to see them first on battlefield...
Fighting guerilla style warfare is not easy, even the Turkish army needed several decades to master it. The US was at loss in Vietnam.
You need a very good trained army for that and I doubt that SA has such a trained army
LOL Eurodrone is already a disaster without being build, the costs is already calculated a 120mln euro per drone (the price with delays can only go up)
And countries like Turkey can offer much better against a fraction of that price
I cannot argue whether hydraulic is more powerful, just know that all modern tanks from Leopard A5 on have changed from hydraulic to electric.
Must have a reason IMO
Is the turret drive been changed into electric? I do not think so. If the turret remained hydraulic with all the weight armor added we might see lot of problems during the use.
There is some "news" spreading around on Twitter that the engine project has failed.
Twitter has lot of BS, and last official news from Ismail Demir I have seen was that the engine development continues.
But nonetheless maybe I have missed something, are these FAIL "news" just rumors or is...
