Interesting Paper on Turkey long-term gas contracts and the liberalization of the market. As many of you know, we do have a lot of long term contracts that are way more expensive right now then gas/LNG on the spot market...
What in return will piss of the Italians, who are running most of the oil in Libya. And the Italians were one of the few countries keeping Macron at bay. Geopolitics is complicated.
So maybe just a rumour but apparently we tried and failed to buy used C130 from Spain, according to Spanish media. Saw it a couple days ago, but cant find the source anymore. AN178 is not in the same class, but seems like there's not that many alternatives around.
@Kaptaan that villa looks like heaven on earth, not to big not to small and an olive tree with a pool. Looking to visit Greece too one day once tensions are normal again.
No, most brokers here dont offer Turkish stocks. Or at least they are not traded at the stock exchanges where they do their business. I can invest in Turkish stocks through ETFs but not in single stocks.
My biggest issue with Turkish stocks is to find a good broker that allows me to buy them or to find a good broker in Turkey I can open account with from abroad. Any ideas or suggestions?
I really hope they dont fuck this up, I hope the profit flows into an investment vehicle like the TWF and is invested in strategic areas: renewables, maybe ressources, R&D and strategic company acquisitions. Reuters initially reported 800bln cubic meters, which would make sense that politicians...
The pipeline is difficult anyway, it will either go through Egypt/Greek waters and be longer and more expensive or Turkish waters with a deal or if they want to connect it to Ceyhan for example it still needs to pass through Greek Cyprus, Northern Cyprus or Lebanon/Syria. Don't see how its...
It was never a topic as far as I can recall, we just had those liberal things like abortion or legal prostitution and it was never a public topic. Correct me if I'm wrong. But the Erdogan government is populist and conservative in its nature, so once in a while they brought it up. Same story...
In a calmer environment, with better leadership and if the Northern Cypriots are willing, I think it could very well be a possibility.
I mean if Israel can annex Golan, Russian Crimea, we sure have a better claim on N. Cyprus.
The Cypriots should make their own shots, Turkish Cyprus is not a vassal of Turkey. I wouldn't mind them joining Turkey, but that's their decision to make that has to be respected. But that being said, the Greek Cypriots seems to have lost interest in a unification anyway.
The planned pipeline is going through Turkish waters, even by Greek definitions of the EEZ. The gas prices are low and the long ass pipeline is expensive, I dont think it will be realized anytime soon.
I like the Greek people, but all of these tensions will lead to Greece needing another bailout. Turkeys finances are already strained too, so there are only a handful of countries benefiting from the conflict. France being one of them. It would be in the interest of both countries to solve this...
Agree with most of it. You know the one country we should get aboard is Italy, because they do have an interest in keeping France from dominating the Med or EastMed.
I said it before, but legalized and regulated weed would take a lot of revenue away from the PKK. I know there is legalized weed now for non recreational purposes but we need to take the last step too. Helalize it.
