Beijing's air quality is not very good, the city has too many cars the location is too close the the deserts. Guangzhou and Shenzhen have no air quality problems. China is not like Korea and Japan, which local problems are the same as nationwide problems.
China is very big, big cities can be polluted some times, much better in recent years though. in the countryside and remote provinces the air quality can rival the best in the world.
