Another example is Italy's PPA. They had it in 3 configurations. Light, Light+ and Full. They are now upgrading the first 3 ships that were built as Light and Light+ to Full and sold 2 Light+ ships to Indonesia, ordered 2 more Full variant ships as replacement for these two. When the program is...

Agree. Not to mention in all over the world FFBNW is basically "we don't have the budget to get the ship we want, but we might in the future, so let's have space for it just in case." It's not a 3 day plug and play procedure. Most basic stuff, like a sailor that will press a button needs to be...

Nope.

Finding and locating a submarine is a time and resource intensive job. Hunter aircraft usually work in pairs, laying sonobuoys every 3-5 miles in different grid patterns. Finding, locating and "recognizing" a diesel electric sub that doesn't want to be found is very hard work. Drones like TB3...

Kencoa tasked with providing 34 different aerostructure components for 27 Hürjets between 2026 and 2028. Subcontractor announcement is something, but the timeline is very interesting. Hürjet is becoming real every passing day...

It looked to me like a pod carried 4 each. If not, you can't hunt a sub with 4 buoys per aircraft.. Anadolu simply doesn't have the sortie generation capabilities to support sending 4-6 aircraft per sub.

SAS Pod is Baykar's Sonoboy Atım Sistemi, but that's huge news. But again, 8 per aircraft is a really low number of sonobuoys. Seahawk can carry 25.

Short and medium range GBAD in Romania for Eastern Shield 2026 exercises. 35mm guns, Sungur, Korkut and Hisar-O. Another Hisar-O is in Azerbaijan for an exercise. We are now in a position where 2 complete batteries can be sent outside the country for international exercises.

We have a decent sized military rearming at decent pace but our defence industry is growing exponentially. MSB simply cannot feed SSB. This structure doesn't work without exports. Hardly anything actually secret is shown during these semi public tests.

Block 30M, 40M and 50Ms now flying for 133 Claws. Beauty of CCIP, they are all same aircraft avionically.

One timeline people rarely talk re the CSG is the organizational and operational aspect. Anadolu was temporarily given to navy for tests in late 2022. First tests were succesful so she was temporarily accepted into service in early 2023. Its first international exercise as i remember was Neptune...

TEI of course doesn't have its capital in a bank. Money they make from build to print parts is good enough to keep the lights on but they can hardly handle more than one self funded project at the same time. There's no fiscal sense in building a PT6 competitor in this market, TEI would be...

Problem have never been the costs. Development cycles and manpower issues are much bigger problems. Number of people that can develop an engine from a core in Turkey is limited and they already have their hands full with one of the most ambitious jet engine development projects not just in...

By the way, it's not even clear if this can get funded. This is president's and his secnav's baby. So far it hasn't received any funding from the congress. At this time it's nothing more than a show.

Not the same actually, because those retirees are still building the FIM-92J. Which is an FIM-92E that stopped US production in early 2000s. Ship production is different, much much larger scale, so many more people. Doesn't make any financial sense in the first place, that's why they stopped...

I think it's high time Atılgans are replaced with Burç. Remaining Atılgans can be modernized and employed on installation defense.

With what they did to Meko, everything is possible, probably a smaller Istif. Don't see RAM being replaced though, we just got the reloads.

Akbaba claimed few months ago that Saudi ordered and even took delivery of Korkut.

That's not how weapon acquisition works. Greece has the same level or more control over their Israeli weapons than we have on S-400 or F-16.

We should remember that Pantsir is a shit ass weapons platform and Gürz was built as a better Pantsir in every way imaginable, literally from a captured Pantsir. First ever released Gürz image was basically a Pantsir with 35mm gun.
