More details about Otokar's 4x4 bid to Romania.
Max weight of the vehicle will be no more than 10.400kg(at least for some variants or all) and 278 vehicles are to be delivered within 1 year after contract signed.
Very competitive tender, no wonder why no one else but Otokar made a bid. Cobra...
It was. No country worth its mettle orders 1000 vehicles all to be built outside. Total delivery will take at least 2-3 years. 1/3 of program are to be imported, while rest will be built in Romania. That was why Oshkosh left the tender months ago as well, because US doesn't let US owned vehicles...
I did that calculation when we first saw the wrecks months ago. We can burn plenty of drones. Thousands of soldiers in Iraq or daily sorties by jets and tens of helicopters easily peak over drone costs.
We don't know if they were shot down, how or how many. So far I still only saw 4 over a 8...
In the case of a Baykar visit, their HQ campus being in Istanbul tho, it's a two stop visit. ROKAF chief visited Turkey to meet with TurAF chief in Ankara and then met with TSK chief. After that they probably took a plane ride to Istanbul to visit Baykar and left for their next destination or...
I gave it a try expecting to be unhappy with it when it first came out but it was pretty awesome so thanks!
Hopefully they have some flashbacks back to past, child Rhaenyra's actor was spectacular.
And they made a trailer each for two sides, that's great :D
We of course don't know anything about specifics except for "9 variants". I'm thinking it will include an ATGM carrier and the basic variant may come with an RCWS, so turrets will make up bulk of the cost. Otokar have been trying to expand into Europe tho and if they break even, it's a big win...
It is. It's not a fleet replenishment ship but a more simpler fuel carrier between ships, docks etc. One of the silent heroes of logistics, they don't even get proper names but just "Fuel-3".
Turkish Navy's new replenishment ship project's 3rd ship Yakıt3 is going on its first sea trial. Built at Özata Shipyard in partnership with Özata and Desan Shipyards. Yakıt3 can carry 200 tonnes of fuel oil and 39 tonnes of fresh water.
New 556 million $ deal with Turkish armed forces. Unlike last time, no info about specifics, not even which branch. I'm thinking it's radars.
"A contract with a value of USD 556.500.000,- regarding the supply of military equipment needed by the Turkish Armed Forces has been signed between...
Otokar seems to be only entrant left! If they can sign this, i believe it will be the single biggest armored vehicle export to date. Joint production in Romania is mentioned, which of course makes sense for a deal this big. Romania would be the biggest user of Cobra II.
Per the piece user...
