From 4 wrestlers in the Greco- Roman wrestling 4 of them lost easily in the first round. People who are World and European champions and/or medalists go on the Olympics and easily lose their fights. Most probably Turkish male wrestlers won't even win a medal at the Olympics for the first time in decades. Even if they do it will still be a shameful performance as Wrestling is probably the only sport with traditions in Turkey, a sport that have given countless Olympic champions for the country in it's history. What kind of preparation these athletes and their trainers had for this event? Did they even get prepared at all or they only went to Paris for some photos and a free vacation?

They have young and promising guys that are born after 2000s already at Olympic finals while Turks are nowhere to be found in their so called Ata Spor.

Look at Weightlifting- Turkey has 8 Olympic titles. 1 from a woman and the 7 others from 3 guys that are all Bulgarian Turks. After they retired 20 years ago weightlifting in Turkey is nowhere to be found.

In every federation where you have some badem biyik guys put in charge you have total collapse coming after that.

Olympics began as a festival to honour Greek Pagan Gods then they celebrated it by playing sports to honour their gods like zeus before it got banned by a Christian Roman Emperor called Theodosius until it got revived in the 1900s as a sports event.

I get what you mean as the Olympic torch always begins in Greece. May not be a ancient Greek celebration but the modern olympics does its best to link itself to ancient Greece.
