(10 Apr 1969) The President of Pakistan, Yahya Khan promises to hold free elections as soon as the country returns to political normality.
How was India's involvement / invasion perceived by Bangladesh and its citizens during the independence war?
Welcome, or were people irritated because they didn't know if they were coming to stay? @Isa Khan @Afif
It's not invasion since Pakistan attacked India first on 3 December. India had undeniably huge contribution in liberation war and it's contribution were welcomed but there were some controversies after our independence when they were staying here.
What is Pakistan's stance on the mass killings of civilians back then, today?
If you mean West Pakistan's stance on the mass killings of Bangladeshis then they were kept in dark and they have been told that India and it's agents are trying to break/split Pakistan. Similar narratives still exists. The Biharis also collaborated with Pakistani military and joined in killing Bangladeshis so many of them also got killed after the war.
