An active phase of bilateral brigade tactical exercises took place at the Matybulak training ground. First Deputy Defense Minister - Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Murat Bektanov, observed the live-fire maneuvers.
As part of a surprise check of troops, bilateral brigade tactical exercises were held. The military units of the regional command "South" and the Airborne Assault Forces were alerted and transferred from Shymkent and Saryozek to the Guards garrison of the Zhambyl region.
The peculiarity of the maneuvers is that for the first time combat operations against each other were carried out by real, and not conventionally designated opponents with a "programmed" nature of actions. Conducting exercises in a bilateral format made it possible to assess commanders according to the appropriateness of the decisions made and the ability to manage units in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment, and the personnel - according to the coherence and effectiveness of actions.
Both sides, taking into account the assessment of the enemy, planned hostilities, carried out tactical camouflage measures, changed the location of positions and command posts. An important role was assigned to the actions of reconnaissance units, as well as to the calculations of unmanned aerial vehicles, which carried out reconnaissance of the enemy and the terrain. Tactical actions were carried out continuously, both day and night.
During the Regional Command Development Phase, the South is the greatest offensive, and the Air Assault is the defense.
In the field, in an environment as close as possible to combat, approbation of new forms and methods of action, tactics took place, taking into account the experience of the leading armies of the world in modern armed conflicts. In particular, with the widespread use of UAV calculations, air defense means, electronic warfare and their interaction with artillery, airborne assault, motorized rifle and tank units, - said Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Murat Bektanov.
The total number of participants in bilateral brigade tactical exercises was about 3,000 servicemen, more than 500 pieces of weapons and military equipment were involved.
