Hi guys I'm planning to join the ADF mid 2022, I've already started my application and spoken with DFR over the phone, I'm joining from overseas so a few strings are having to be pulled for me to go through the application, Currently I'm on the Aptitude test stage and I'm applying for infantry and I was wondering how well do I have to do to unlock this role, obviously I'm going to commit my hardest to the aptitude test but just wanna make sure I do well.

Also if anyone has any general advice from joining from overseas that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm not sure but does ADF stand for the Australian Defense Force? Maybe @Ryder could help you out there.

Adf stands for Australian defence force.

This link can help. Right now Australia is trying recuit more of its own nationals into the army rather than foreigners. Still foreigners are accepted but it will take long before they are accepted.

It all really depends on demand. For example, the police here have a waiting list of applicants, those who score highly get pushed to the top of that list. Average scoring applicants can expect to wait for a long time before being called up for the academy. And that's only if demand increases and there's a shortage of stellar performing applicants.

I'm sure it's the same with the ADF. However, I'd definitely say that the ADF is in full blown recruiting mode right now, so it shouldn't be too competitive. From what I've heard, most who fail, do so in the psychological testing phase.

Good luck.
