The current earthquake is unprecedented and its magnitude is so severe that the last incident of such scale (and a collision of 140+ km fault line) only occured 3 times in history with this being the fourth

Anyway, here you go
Just hecause the govt isnt announcing it the moment you wish them to, doesnt mean they arent doing it. It takes time to contact and book all hotels in Antalya; moreover, you need to ask the tourists to vacate their premises for humanitarian puposes and compensate them. Such events doesnt occur in a few minutes but normally in the span of days

I would care less to be pro or anti government, it is about our people.

It is the logic way to do, and I am glad the decision is finally taken. I have friends in Iskenderun and yesterday they were telling we cannot go into our houses as every 10 minutes there are tremors and heavy quakes can come anytime

Indonesian embassy in Ankara already sent one container of foods and other supplies and already moving with volunteer to Gaziantep. This only the first response as greater Aids package would come from Indonesia

If Mexican fellas arrive before than Indonesians i will swear good to my friends who works in Indonesian state agencies.

Don't take it personally though, i just expected a better response as my Indonesian friends did.

C-130s to pick miners from Zonguldak.

Once again, miners are the best for such rescue operations and this has been late. The people i know with certificates of SAR and mountaineering ceases to function in disaster area, they have no mental strength to handle it. Miners do.

PS: Miners are ready with gears since yesterday noon.

Korea will send a team of around 110 disaster relief personnel and emergency medical supplies by a military transport aircraft after a devastating earthquake hit Turkey and Syria on Monday.

The government will also provide $5 million in humanitarian aid to Turkey, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Tuesday.

Earlier Tuesday morning, President Yoon Suk Yeol ordered the government to swiftly dispatch rescue workers and deliver emergency medicine and medical supplies to support Turkey.

The Korean government dispatched a preliminary team of three officials from the Foreign Ministry, the 119 rescue headquarters and Koica to inspect the situation on Monday following a request from the Turkish government.

Indonesia prepares humanitarian aid for Turkiye

The assistance is currently being prepared by the Foreign Ministry, the Defence Ministry, as well as the Social Affairs Ministry.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo has instructed government ministries to dispatch humanitarian aid to Turkiye to help the victims of the 7.8-magnitude quake that rattled Turkey and Syria on Monday (February 6, 2023).

"The assistance is currently being prepared by the Foreign Ministry, the Defence Ministry, as well as the Social Affairs Ministry. It is being prepared and will be dispatched as soon as possible," the President informed at a press conference held at Merdeka Palace here on Tuesday.

As of Tuesday morning, officials were still deciding on the appropriate aircraft to transport the emergency aid, he said.

Separately, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin highlighted the need to dispatch humanitarian aid to Turkiye as soon as possible to reciprocate its support for Indonesia during major natural disasters in the past.

"Turkiye was among the first to assist us during the (December 26, 2004) tsunami in Aceh, and we had also discussed with the President and Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto to send a humanitarian mission (to Turkiye)," Amin said after visiting the Java Integrated and Industrial Port Estate in Gresik, East Java, on Tuesday.

Dispatching humanitarian aid is part of Indonesia's responsibility to the global community as countries in the world are expected to support each other when a disaster strikes, he explained.

"The world, indeed, should support each other; this has been our human tradition. I also hope Baznas (National Alms Agency) can also partake in the duty," the Vice President said.

Moreover, Indonesian Ambassador to Turkiye Lalu Muhammad Iqbal said that the first batch of humanitarian aid, in the form of a freight container full of foods, is en route from Ankara to Gaziantep, which was among the most-affected cities in the quake.

"Now, I and the embassy team is moving to Gaziantep to distribute the humanitarian aid, in the form of a freight container full of foods from the Indonesian government, for the Turkish Red Crescent," Iqbal informed at a virtual press conference on Tuesday.

His side has also distributed portable gas stoves and gas tanks, as well as 300 blankets for Indonesian nationals who have decided to remain in the affected cities.

According to the embassy’s records, 10 Indonesian nationals were injured in Monday’s quake, he informed. Four of them received medical care at local hospitals and 6 will be evacuated to Ankara, he added.

The embassy has also evacuated 104 Indonesian nationals from earthquake-affected regions to Ankara.

Those who want to send their donations through the ahbap organization, please use only the link address written by dear what. Many fake accounts on social media are committing fraud by using the name of the organization with different IBAN addresses or crypto wallet adresses. It pains me to say this, but some bastards are trying to take advantage of even such a huge humanitarian crisis.

Also can order items ready to delivered to the region via AFAD, from trendyol, hepsiburada etc.
They have the items filtered, prices are monitored.

It seems some zones are very hard to sent help like Hatay , roads blocked , airport demaged . So the best is to use helicopters. I hope Turkish army with around 500 helicopters can send some 50 of them with rescures and small equipent .
Until roads fixed temporarily .
Aslo someone write here that 200+ K are under the rubble , Please dont cause panic , we all are very sad and those kind of news are not good for nation , If 200k were under rubble by now there will be 50k dead not just 3.5k . I dont think the number of dead one will pass 5k . And thats alot for Turkish nation . 😭😭

How did you reach that number seems highly exaggerated
Total population of the surrounding primarily affected cities,
Houses are not safe to go in.

Civilian construction equipment can already reach the areas. There are destroyed tunnels and damaged asphalt roads, but it is not a deprived area, it can be reached with appropriate vehicles and in a coordinated way. As a matter of fact, many business people and philanthropists went to the region with the means at their disposal, with construction vehicles, aid trucks and mobile kitchens.

But look, I am telling you clearly that even mainstream media journalists cannot broadcast from inside the places where the destruction is horrible. Because the people are angry. These people have stayed up in the freezing night hearing the cries of their relatives under the rubble. People are angry and intolerant, and they have every right to be. The reflexes of our state have shown weakness, the government has not been able to take the necessary steps at the required speed. People were made to feel that they had no one. Even if an earthquake victim goes to the governor in that region and beats the crap out of him, that governor has no right to say anything, let alone grin, he has to listen and immediately make an effort with whatever means he has at his disposal.

The Turkish army has a huge manpower. Forget the equipment, the soldiers can clean the rubble with their bare hands. The army should have come out of their barracks immediately and unit commanders should have placed 10 or 20 soldiers at each rubble. I am really very sad and devastated, and there are many things I would like to write about at a more appropriate time.
