This is a nice video in Turkish, where the guy explains how they went from small scale to large scale. And where they've been to Israel and KSA to see the best animal husbandries.

He explains things quite well, and even points out some things they imported from abroad because they couldn't trust/rely on domestic R&D.

I could be awesome to see videos like this from other countries too. I just wish this had english subtitles.

This guy is making decent money on goats. What's really impressive is what they invented to make the process of making goat cheese easier. An all in one solution!

Engineer produces three tons of fertilizer a month

ŞIRNAK – Demirören News Agency

Engineer produces three tons of fertilizer a month

An agricultural engineer in the eastern province of Şırnak has advised the unemployed people to breed Californian worms, telling that he produces three tones of worm fertilizer a month by only working an hour a day.

“Breeding worms and making worm fertilizer is an effortless job,” said Abdulmutalip Kocaman.

Worm fertilizer helps considerably in stimulating plant growth. “It helps to get 50 percent more products out of fruit and vegetable plants,” said Kocaman.

As the fertilizer obtained is organic, it has positive effects on the soil for up to three years, the engineer said.

“We bought around 600,000 worms from a company in the province of Diyarbakır. We had two boxes of worms. But in four months, the number of the worms increased to 1.5 million in four boxes,” he added.

Stressing the economic value of the business, he said, “A ton of fertilizer is sold for 3,500 Turkish Liras ($458).”

He said that by working only an hour a day, he produced around three tons of worm fertilizer in a month.

He also noted that many agriculture producing countries have been using worm fertilizer for the last 70 years.

I was really hoping our people would have been using the same fertilizer solution for the past 50.... I can only hope that this spreads and helps our people faster than wildfire.

Five-year livestock roadmap targets self-sufficiency: Minister

ANKARA

Five-year livestock roadmap targets self-sufficiency: Minister

Agriculture and Forestry Minister Yumaklı has announced Türkiye’s five-year livestock roadmap which plans to end livestock imports in three years by providing additional support to producers.

The ministry has initiated a program for breeders and milk producing enterprises to have superior breeds in milk and meat productivity which expects to yield results within two years, according to Yumaklı.

"You can get the milk or meat yield from five animals that you would get from ten animals, so why keep 10 animals? Our aim is to solve animal production locally in accordance with the realities of Türkiye, and to end this import issue completely in the third year at the latest," Yumaklı stated.

Noting that the ministry will switch to a support payment model for each baby livestock that is vaccinated and registered, Yumaklı said that additional support will be provided to family businesses, and young and women producers for the first time.

"We are increasing the number of beneficiaries by expanding IPARD support to 81 provinces. We provide additional discounts on subsidized loans to women, young people and planned production regions," Yumaklı said.

Stating that the loan upper limit per enterprise will be increased in animal husbandry, Yumaklı heralded an even higher limit for purified enterprises.

"With additional support, we aim to increase the number of purified enterprises from 1,136 to 2,000 in 2024 and 2,500 in 2025," he added.

Yumaklı explained that businesses that meet certain conditions will receive four times more support under the new model compared to the current situation.

I'm trying to understand this... but wasn't it AKP that introduced the import of livestock/animals from abroad ?
