It says that Foreign Minister Cavusoglu has stated that after our President’s meeting with his French and Italian counterparts, manufacturing of Samp-T systems in Turkey is being considered more seriously.

*Siper Block 1 and 2, the Block 2 forces the limits a bit more.
In updated naming, Block 3 will have nicer capabilities.

Destruction of a target in the space and the upper atmosphere is very different from the atmosphere. Explosives don’t work or very inefficient so, you need a hit-to-kill target. Winglets won’t direct you into your target, you need trust vectoring. At the end, your new missile won’t be a new block of Siper but, a totally new missile. What you can use in the Siper is the engine section which bring your effector to high altitude.

Why manufacture SAMP-T when Siper will be ready in 2-3 years ?

Siper Blk1(100km), Blk2(150km) and Blk3 (ABM capability). At this stage, Turkey has reached competence in Siper Blk1 (2023) and Blk2 (2024-25) technologies and the development phase continues. The main challenge will be related to the development of the technology of Siper Blk3 which is spread over longer term. Many subsystem technologies are currently being developed to achieve this capability (two color seeker, multiple axis divert attitude control thrusters, space based navigation sensors) and I expect ongoing negotiations with Eurosam to evolve into this scope. If the tripartite negotiations are held for production of the Blk-1NT system in Turkey instead of the joint development of the Aster Blk-2 technology, this will not provide Turkey with a capability beyond its technological level. The new Ka band seeker technology will be used in Blk-1NT and the missile reach 150km. On the other hand, Siper Blk-2 will incorporate similar Ka Band Rf technology as well as IIR technology on seeker head and will reach a range of 150km with dual pulse rocket motor technology.

If we can reach Karman Line with sounding rockets, there's no reason why we couldn't develop a missile to take out a satellite or ballistic missile kinetically.

Advanced level Pif Paf Thrusters ? Terminal Stage two or tricolor ıır seeker ? Advanced KV ? Active radar seeker which long ranger enough to reach target without enemy ew ?, power supply for all of that things ? diameter and sizes and kinematic of missile with all of them ? launcher ? etc. etc.

Why not have both? We could use them simultaneously to make sure that we’re not leaving any gaps. One system’s weakness might be solved in another. I wish we could get at least 1 or 2 Patriot batteries as well. They all have their own strengths that might be useful in different terrains and against different targets. Turkey is a large country and we need as many systems as we can get. You’re seeing what’s currently happening in Ukraine. If they had a properly layered system, Russians would never have dared to fly a single jet in their airspace. If Turkey can successfully defend its airspace, no army can invade it, ever. The terrain is too rough to invade by land or sea. So, if we can properly defend our airspace with enough redundancy, we can protect our country. But we really need that redundancy. We need each and every type of system we can get. One system might be interfered bythe enemy using EW while another continues to operate. If they can hack or manipulate one Siper systwm, they can do it to the rest of our systems. So, for times of war, we need different types of systems. That makes it much more difficult to completely shut down our AD.

I am aerospace graduate, I know what is needed . Your so called phd degree gave nothing to you it seems!

Hitting a satellite is easier than hitting long range ICBMs!

That is why USA is trying to set up many early warning radar systems everywhere.

And ICBMs are harder to hit that is why israel develops it with USA support. What is challenging and harder than ballistic missile defense is having the ability to hit satellites any time, that needs huge technology , you need to have ability to reach any satellite anytime with your system. you may need to go to several altitudes to reach specific satellite anytime. That is the most challenging work in air defense systems.No country may have this capability at the moment.

Dont talk about a subject with out having a clue!! Check what is SM-3 missile , most probably you dont know what it is.

In doing what? People may think it is a good way of achieving national goals while pitfalls may lie on the way. I don't like to involve RR in engine development either as they may cause our engine independence to be put off while ensuring engine availability. It is a selection between two similar outcomes. It is an evaluation of benefits. It is a preference. It is not a selection between obvious good and obvious bad. I may as well be in error. It is a technical matter. Thinking it is a matter of trust is outrageous. If you are not putting thought into it you are not caring rather than having trust. Mind your words.

I proved that it can be utilized easily ,check sm-3!!
I provide radar etc. details for ballistic missile systems,which we will have around 2026-2027 hopefully.
I am providing this data since anti ballistic systems are harder, when Turkey will have this system , it is not hard to make anti satellite system from siper system!! It seems you are not able to make inference ,so called physics PhD holder!! So don't twist the subject, so long range anti air systems can be utilized for anti satellite system!!

Yes I am aerospace graduate in Turkey, not from one of the cheap universities .

I am well aware of what you are saying, neither i have claimed Siper Block-III will be an BMD missile.
Block-III will have some nice features that will ease the transition.

Btw, Iam fine with Samp-t involvement if we talk about Aster-30 Block2 with full ToT. Or the ones we need.
