I really don't like the location of the jammer and what might be a laser targeting system? Turret feels way too low. After seeing so many drone hits, front of the vehicle being such a blind spot doesn't sit right with me. Anything coming from the front has to be coming at a very high angle for Gürz to be able to engage at all.
Here is a comparison of the Gürz with the Russian Pantsir

Okay? That article is completely irrelevant to what I said and shows the old version of the system, not the latest iteration.

Could Surpass Russian Pantsir-S: Western Press Evaluates New Turkish Anti-Aircraft System Gürz 150

«In 2024, the Turkish company Aselsan launched serial production of the new Gürz 150 anti-aircraft missile and gun system, positioning it as a more advanced, “hybrid” alternative to the Russian Pantsir-S air defense missile and gun system.

The Gürz 150 is presented by the developer as a multi-purpose system Defense and a missile defense system capable of autonomous operation, threat assessment, and target distribution using a fire control algorithm.
The Turkish complex combines advanced technologies that could provide advantages over existing systems such as the Pantsir-S1.

- believe in the publication Army Recognition.

As indicated, unlike the Russian ZRPK, the Gürz 150 combines "hard" and "soft" types of destruction. At the moment, they include a 35-mm autocannon capable of firing HE shells, and anti-aircraft variants missiles Gökdoğan and Bozdoğan air-to-air missiles (4 short-range and XNUMX medium-range SAMs). The system is equipped with onboard target designation systems (target detection and tracking radar, friend-or-foe identification system, and an electro-optical guidance system for detecting and engaging targets). A machine gun is installed for self-defense.

The final configuration is expected to include additional combat capabilities, AESA search and fire control radars, a EW Kangal (electromagnetic interference generator and signal simulator) and laser weapon Gokberk.

The Gürz 150 is capable of countering a wide range of aerial threats, including those operating in groups, including UAVs, helicopters, aircraft and supersonic missiles.

- says the publication.
The Gürz 150, mounted on an 8x8 truck chassis, is characterized by its mobility and rapid deployment. It supports the function of firing on the move. The system can operate independently or as part of a battery. In the latter scenario, one of the units acts as a command post to coordinate actions. As indicated, the rapid reaction time and the ability to simultaneously engage multiple targets increase the effectiveness of the system.

In the case of the Russian Pantsir-S1, information was published about its characteristic problems with detecting and countering low-speed small-sized UAVs, which led to modifications to its radar and guidance system.

- noted in the publication.

As indicated, compared to the Pantsir-S, the Gürz 150 has a modular design, which in the future will allow the installation of an AESA radar and electronic warfare systems.

While both systems provide point defense, the Gürz 150 uses a layered approach, which will provide the system with both “hard” and “soft” kill capabilities, such as a laser weapon and a radio frequency jammer.

- said in the Western press.

According to the author, the modular design of the Gürz 150 allows for step-by-step modernization, while the Pantsir-S requires constant modifications to eliminate operational limitations.

New Turkish Gürz 150 air defense system could outperform Russia's Pantsir-S1

- the author gives his assessment.

For our part, we note that the so-called "modular" configuration does not mean that at any time the system can be equipped with a new means of destruction or equipment and immediately sent to perform combat missions. Both the Gürz 150 and the Pantsir-S or any other system, receiving new "stuffing", must undergo a painstaking process of integration with it. And "modularity" has nothing to do with it. As for the means of "soft" destruction, their installation on the Gürz 150 has so far only been announced in plans»

While I like the idea behind Pantsir and Gürz, if someone could cough up a much smaller solution that weighs and doesn't take more space and weight than BORAN I think it'd be every more amazing. Not to mention moving and deploying it would be extremely fast and cool.

I'm Imagining a 35mm short barrel with FCS and a situational Radar/sensor that fits. If it is possible

I remember someone shared some info on how radars perform, so a small radar would mean short range, but perhaps a solution with radar range extension can be made for increasing range.
