It is thought that Turkey's natural gas drillings in Southeastern Mediterranean may be the issue here.

I suspect Israel is poking things here.
The Turkish government pulled all of its gas search and drill ships out of the Mediterranean. There is literally no Turkish natural gas activity in the Mediterranean. In other words: Turkish government is fully complying on Turkey's enemies' demands on the EastMed.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Germany is not a frontier country perse. So while they don't have same advanteous location as England or France they're still pretty well hidden.

Only thing that could bring Germany to its knees is/was the refugee waves. I've already posted my pov and ideas about the R&D in Med sea, no need to go there in this thread.

But I agree that forcing german companies to increase production in Türkiye would be a good start, or like Kartal pointed out cooperating with the Chinese, but the Germans will find a way to hinder it as well.

All I can say is that we need to find a way to make life a hell for german brands in Türkiye. Unless it creates jobs etc.

So I imagine all the deals including F110, F16V, Eurofighter, Hürjet, F404, A400m, C130J etc is about to be cancelled. Just had to stay silent...

In other words: işte şimdi s.çtık

Eh, much didn't change after his latest rhetoric. Let's see.

Turkey's natural gas activities in the Eastern Mediterranean
Don't exist.

Truth is, Turkey per official stance has not yet made an official request to Germany to buy Eurofighters. They are first waiting for an unofficial green light to make a request.

Mezzanatto is a nobody in this sense, put on the consortium board to make sure it runs semi smoothly, his thoughts and words don't mean anything.

📌 Eurofighter CEO Mezzanatto stated that Turkey wanted to buy 40-50 Eurofighters, but Germany blocked these attempts.

📌 Italian CEO emphasized that the blockage may have been made due to Turkey's natural gas activities in the Eastern Mediterranean.
I disagree with the second paragraph

We buy Reis class submarines from Germany and we have not had any problems.

I think Germany will not support France-Greece in the Eastern Mediterranean. Germany is not happy with our presence in northern Syria and northern Iraq.

There will always be wars. History has a habit of repeating itself. USA, Israel and the EU do NOT want to see Turkiye as a military and economic powerhouse because that means we can dictate our own foreign policy (remember when we denied the usa access to the second Gulf war? They still haven't forgotten). And even worse, competition on the international arms market.

Mate, you sound like a broken record. repeating the same stuff over and over again. I don't see anyone in this forum who considers most of the western countries as genuine allies.

We have interests and if they allign then we walk together for a while. Now Spain is and could possibly be considered the most friendly western ally we have atm. The Brits are playing their game "good cop, bad cop" (US, or with the help of some EU allies). etc. etc. etc.

All of that is done in the interest of keeping Türkeye within they reach or area of influence.

That's it.

They cannot afford the alienate us completely unless something radically changes, and that is not just because of Russia. The world has 2 spheres of influence right now, and if they kick us out of theirs completely, we would have no choice but to ally ourselves with the other. And that would cause Mediterranean to stop being a NATO lake, which would force them to commit extra resources, from all branches of their militaries, to a flank that wasn't there before, forcing them to go against Russia and China with weaker forces.

And another reason is that we are extremely integrated into all levels of NATO structure. Not just our military but some of our companies have done and are working on critical systems for them.

Let's also not forget, other than US military, nobody in NATO has as much experience as we do in actual war. "Thanks" to their support of terrorists and regimes around us, we've been actively fighting and improving ourselves for decades while most other NATO countries can barely keep their militaries functional. Forcing us to ally with China and Russia would be a catastrophic mistake for the West.
