There is a good reason why Algeria is moving more toward the West, for 50 years Algeria bought arms from the Russians, but during this period the Russians never granted Algeria the right to manufacture weapons , But during the short period of cooperation with the West .. we find today 3 German companies in Algeria, Mercedes Benz for trucks and engines, Hansoldt for electronic systems and Rheinmetall Defense for armored vehicles ... As for Italy, by 2022, the Augusta Westland Algeria plant will start assembling and manufacturing Leonardo helicopters. In Algeria..and the same goes for China and Serbia and UAE, who are transferring defense technology to Algeria...So what did the Russians give Algeria During those years?

Leonardo-Finmeccanica and the Algerian Ministry of National Defence to establish a joint company to manufacture helicopters

i will be honest, i also never imagined you got all of these western technology.. thats why its interesting to see.. i always heard you got Russian SU-30, Russian submarine and so on but didnt think you actually also invested on western technology. thats the right way to see the difference.. Russia is so many years behind about army technology... they think they got nuclear bombs so nobody can touch them. they dont feel like they need to develop anything..

its good to have these aircrafts in hand... Azerbaijan used them (AN-2, older version obviously) very smart as a drone to make air defense missile to turn on and shoot it and Bayraktar came from behind and shoot those expensive air defense missiles..

To be honest, too.. the problem with the Russians is not their technology, as they have started to match the Western technology in recent years..the main problem with the Russians is that they sell you weapons and that's it ...without any right to manufacture it or manufacture it spare parts all they care about it is your money and that's not a fair deal

I think the best way for Algeria is to follow Turkish model and start producing more locally made equipment, armed vehicles, planes etc.
Turkey started with JVs and manufacturing under licence, and now it's getting more and more independent as many imported components are being produced locally.
Algerian armed forces look huge and in the long run it would benefit from replacing imported equipment with locally/indigenously produced ones.
This way it'll keep a lot of expences in the country and in case of sanctions, it won't be affected greatly.
I see a sufficient capacity there.

No official confirmation on that as far as I know.
not it's officially confirmed last year where the Algerian army officially announces the start of production of the boxer, in addition to Fox 2...and these are the pictures of tests of the first batch with algerian pattern at Rheinmetall Algeria site...

King Air 350ER "ATOS" surveillance aircraft fitted with radar and thermal imaging equipment...In addition to providing maritime surveillance and ground intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), the King Airs can support missions such as the detection of foreign vessels, environmental survey, as well as search-and-rescue.
The King Airs feature a retractable forward-looking infrared camera (Wescam Mx15i), laser illuminator, a Gabbiano 360-degree T-200 air-to-ground radar in a ventral radome and other equipment.
The aircraft will be operated by the Algerian Air Force’s 5th Reconnaissance Squadron and will be used to monitor security threats like al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) and other militant groups, according to the African Armed Forces Journal, which last month reported that Algeria was already receiving the aircraft.
