Will we be chosen by the U.S.? To be honest, I'm skeptical.

But so far, there hasn't been a single easy opponent in any of the bidding wars.

By the way, it uses an automated K9A2 turret. Nine rounds per minute. That’s pretty impressive.

They went and deleted the K9MH video. I really wonder how Hanwha manages their PR department.

In any case, the Marine Corps unveiled the 120mm Mortar System Mounted on a Light Tactical Vehicle at its 77th anniversary ceremony today.

This is a prototype I took last year. I didn't take it very well, so there's a lot of glare.

The system unveiled at this event has completed performance verification, including firing tests, and is scheduled to enter full-scale deployment following a pilot operation evaluation by the Marine Corps in the second half of this year.

Estonia to Purchase at Least Six South Korean–Made Chunmoo Multiple Rocket Launchers

View attachment 78704
The Estonian Centre for Defence Investments (ECDI) and representatives of the South Korean defence industry company Hanwha Aerospace have signed a contract for the procurement of six Chunmoo multiple rocket launchers. The contract, worth nearly €290 million, covers the launcher systems, three types of missile systems (CGR-080, CTM-MR, CTM-290), as well as operational and training support. In addition, modifications to the platforms will be ordered to ensure they meet Estonian conditions and traffic regulations. Deliveries will begin in the second half of 2027, and the framework agreement allows for the future procurement of additional systems.

Hanwha Aerospace announced that it will supply three additional Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher systems to the Estonian Defence Forces. The supply follows a government-to-government (G2G) contract signed on May 11 between the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Estonian Centre for Defence Investments (ECDI).

The agreement builds on the approximately €290 million G2G contract signed in December 2025, which covered six Chunmoo launchers, three types of missiles (CGR-080, CTM-MR, and CTM-290), as well as operational and training support. With this follow-on order, Estonia’s defence-industrial relationship with Hanwha now spans both K9 self-propelled howitzers and Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher systems.

The Chunmoo is a state-of-the-art multiple rocket launcher system designed to provide high mobility and rapid, precise firepower. It is mounted on highly mobile 8×8 trucks and is capable of firing both 239 mm guided rockets with a range of up to 80 kilometers and longer-range missiles, such as CTM-290 tactical ballistic missiles with a range of up to 290 km.

The Estonian Army is strengthening its deep strike capabilities.

Wouldn't small countries like Estonia not be primarily targetted by Drones for overwhelming their capabilities ?

I mean we've seen what happened in ME with oil rich countries using up all their AD missiles and batteries.

Yeah, I think so too. I wonder how they'll respond to this.

Still, since Estonia isn't operating on its own, surely there must be some way to handle this?
