Sikorsky doesn’t have newer naval helicopter platforms as I recall. So they’d offer naval version of BH, the seahawk. But I doubt MOD would just be satisfied with off the shell shopping. The company would probably to throw in knowhow on hoe to navalize helicopters etc.

What happened to our T925 project?
We should use it on ships also.

T-925 has no urgency as the T-70 project is still running. The best option would be to expand the T-70 contract with the seahawks I don't know if this is possible. T-70 Seahawk with Turkish sonar, FLIR, and Radar would be awesome. T-70 already has Aselsan avionics suite, EW systems, etc.

I don't think that is possible. Because the T-70 project is not customized for the sea version. The design must be renewed. Corrosion resistance, strengthening of landing gear and more alot of changes needed. Whether all this is contrary to the undergraduate agreement signed with the USA is uncertain. Therefore, It sounds more sensible to work national designs according to what we cannot get a new permission from the US.

I am big fan of AW101s, perhaps navy is looking for bigger birds for TCG Anadolu but too many different types of helicopters while we are waiting for local ones are not a smart move and in my opinion LHD should have CH 47s, UAVs heavy attack helos and F35s on it. Until T929 comes T129 could fill the requirement, who knows F35Bs would be available may be 10 years later.. But TSK already have CH47, and should push for more.. afterall it is not an offensive weapon, just a transport helo, why would they embargo it. TSK needs more heavy choppers, either from US, Allies or UK. But AW101 requires completely new infrastructure while it is no so bigger than others in the inventory. On the other hand trust Italians and Brits while staying away from US, Russia and France.

CH-47 do not have marinized variant. So out of question.

I don't think there will be a national design for a handful of navalized helicopters. Gökbey, T-929, Hürjet and MMU(TF-X) has priority. WHen I said T-70 I meant seahawk with Aselsan avionics, electronics plus Turkish FLIR, radar, and sonar. Since Aselsan hardware is certified on T-70 it probably doesn't need to be certified again on Seahawk or much less work is needed.;

The other choice is Leonardo and in the end, I think Leonardo will be selected.

Well than UK shouldn't put them on HMS Queen Elizabeth and neither Spain nor Australia should operate on their LHDs, shame on Boeing.

Yes Jandarma has Mi17 but as far as i know they are mostly unused.

I wish we convert them all to the firefighting helicopters and use them like that.

Oh God I really want to make a joke about this but I feel like I would get banned for it.

Since it involves what is going on in the USA.

In the US you see all sorts of military vehicle's even with small town police because of all that surplus equipment.

But I have not seen any choppers like our police has with the US police.

It's too ridiculous even for redneck sheriffs' standards.

Let's fire cirit on thieves and UMTAS on jewelry store robbers.

It's just a half-witted coup prevention measure, to put the police in an arms race with the army.

I guess there will be police MMUs too. To protect Erdo's plane :D
