The Fulcrums looks very overburdened, it takes the role of the only BVR capable jets, also AGM capable jets in the entire BAF. And this with only 8 airframes.

This might be an odd question but why aren't BAF trying to buy ex-Malaysian MiG instead ? While you wait for the MRCA. Iirc, Malaysia jets airframes are still quite capable (being able to fire the Adder and Krypton without needing any modifications)and it comes with AA refueling.

Malaysian MiGs were actually kept in storage ready to be reactivated any time. MAF retired those not only due to high operational cost but an actual lack of pilot (hence they choose the remaining pilots to fly the Su-30MKM instead). They look to re-activate once sufficient pilots are available. Old news but you got the idea.

Malaysia will de-activate its Russian Aircraft Corporation (RSK) MiG MiG-29N multirole fighter aircraft fleet in 2007 to ensure enough fighter pilots are available to operate the Sukhoi Su-30MKMs that will be delivered that same year.

The decision was made by the Malaysian Armed Forces in light of the fact that the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) has a shortage of qualified pilots and cannot make up the numbers in time to accommodate the entry of the Sukhois into RMAF service.

The RMAF's shortage of pilots stems from a combination of a lack of sufficient aircraft for lead-in fighter training, currently about 11 Aermacchi MB-339As, and shortcomings in the pilot training programme that were addressed in 2003, the ramifications of which are only now being felt.

In addition, a number of RMAF pilots have opted to leave the service for civil aviation, particularly in light of the demand for pilots by Malaysia's low-cost aviation carrier, Air Asia.

Currently the RMAF has one operational MiG-29 squadron, Squadron 19 based at RMAF Kuantan, that contains all 16 aircraft in the inventory. However, readiness problems have resulted in a low number of the fleet being operationally ready, although the newly appointed squadron commander is working to improve the situation. While details of their de-activation schedule are still being worked on, the MiG-29s are due to be placed in storage rather than being sold off to a third party because the RMAF hopes to bring the aircraft back into service once sufficient pilots are available.

The shortage of lead-in fighter aircraft trainers will be addressed through the purchase of eight MB-339 C/Ds, which is currently being negotiated.
Meanwhile, the RMAF's plans to purchase an undisclosed amount of Joint Direct Attack Munitions (JDAM) bomb kits appears to be stalled owing to the fact that the purchase would also require upgrades to be made to the RMAF's Boeing F-18Ds in order to operate the JDAMs. The upgrades would entail additional funding that is expected to be unavailable given Malaysia's budgetary constraints.

t's not about money in that sense.
Pakistan with a lesser economy operates hundred of aircrafts!
and if Myanmar with six times smaller economy can afford to operate almost 50 4th gen fighters we can definitely buy 16 eurofighter or rafale.
However, Myanmar is country like north Korea and Pakistan is like where state serve the military rather than the other way around. clearly, BD should not operate like that.
and also, contemporary threat to our national security is very low because there is nothing practical Myanmar can gain by a war with us. coupled with that fact, ongoing economic recession can explain the delay in MRCA procurment.

Myanmar operates mostly Mig29s with some JF-17s. Those are much cheaper and much less capable than eurofighters or rafale.

For Pakistan they are a national security state that is literally surviving on handouts from "friendly nations" and the IMF but can still find money for military procurement. Their focus on their military is to the detriment of everything else which is why on human development and economy Bangladesh is much ahead.
Pakistan also had the advantage of getting free or reduced price for F-16s for doing American dirty work in Afghanistan and now they get help from China to procure more fighters.

Not the latest but updated google satellite imagery at least shows a clear picture of the BAF base Cox's Bazar. Note that the right bellman hanger in the southern side is complete and judging by the latest satellite imagery the tarmac's work is also complete. The building under construction near is probably the new Command and Stuff Training Institute shifted from Tejgaon base.
