Why would it need to be close to the coast ??? Take the F-35C for example, it has a combat range of 2200km and extendable by aerial refueling. US carrier will be so far from Chinese shore.

and as for the missiles, it's only as effective if China could find the carriers among the thousands of ships present in those particular area. A radar can't distinguish an aircraft carrier and a tanker.

If a war broke out, China, as a very centralised governent, can mobilise the whole country and all the industries and put the whole country in a war time mode in a week, just like how we initally fought the pandemic.
How quickly US can mobilise their country and all their industries? judging from the chaotic mismanagement of the pandemic even after having half a year time for preparation, one can't be very optimistic.

The invasion capabilities of China would be sufficient enough by that point, and it would fit well with the 2035 and 2049 time plans of the CCP leadership, wouldn't it?

Being specified onto a date, ha, I don't think so.
Taiwan is not a ship, it can't sail away, time is on China's side. China's divide was imposed by US onto the Chinese nation, if US didn't send 7th fleet to Taiwan to intervene China's civil war on behave of KMT in 1949, Taiwan issue would never exist. So Chinese nation will never accept this division imposed by US onto us.
