Bayraktar drones in Donbass worried Germany

TEXT: ALEXANDER IVANITSKY, October 27, 2021, 17:34

The day before, the Ukrainian military first used Turkish Bayraktar drones in Donbas.

In Germany, they expressed concern about the use of drones in the Donbass by all parties to the conflict. This was announced on Wednesday, October 27, by the representative of the German Foreign Ministry Andrea Sasse, according to Ukrinform.

"Berlin is very concerned about the increase in the intensity of hostilities in eastern Ukraine, as well as the message of the General Staff of the Ukrainian army, according to which the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in response to shelling and the death of one soldier and wounding of another, used a Bayraktar-type drone," Zasse said.

She recalled that in recent weeks, OSCE observers have recorded an increase in violations of the ceasefire and the use of heavy weapons in violation of the Minsk agreements.

Sasse noted that "drones are used by all parties, although the Minsk agreements allow it exclusively for the OSCE mission."

In connection with the deterioration of the situation in Donbass, Germany called on all parties to de-escalate.

The diplomat also said that Germany and France are working hard to organize a meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Normandy Four.

Russia will bring now air defences. What Ukraine needs now:
* Cheap small recon drones.
* Suicide drones, which will destroy air defence systems detected by recon drones.
* Decoy drones which will distract air defences and provoke them to expose themselves.
* SIGINT.

In the Russian Federation, they believe that the situation in Donbass is aggravated by Ukraine, and in the United States, that Russia

The rhetoric of Russia is not only misleading, but also contributes to the escalation in the Donbass, according to the American Embassy.

Russian statements about the aggravation of the situation in Donbass by Ukraine contribute to the escalation of tensions in the region, according to the US Embassy in Ukraine.

“We call on both sides of the conflict in Donbas to abide by the terms of the ceasefire agreement, but let's be clear: the Russian-backed side has repeatedly used howitzer artillery and drones against Ukrainian forces, in direct violation of enhanced measures agreed last year, and recently killed a Ukrainian soldier. Russian rhetoric that Ukraine is aggravating the situation is not only misleading, but also contributes to the escalation of tensions, "the embassy said in a statement.

We will remind, recently it became known that the Armed Forces used Bayraktar for the first time in Donbass. As stated in the General Staff, this was done in response to the shelling of D-30 howitzers, as a result of which one soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine died, two were wounded.
