Canadian export items

  • Bombardier 6000 aircraft for HavaSOJ
  • MX-15D optics for drones
  • ASIST helicopter secure landing system
  • Pt-6 turboprop engine for Hürkuş

Turkish options

  • Bombardier 6000 is a civilian aircraft so I don't suppose Turkey will meet a difficulty for overhaul/spare parts of this aircraft. It is a done deal.
  • Optics were already replaced with CATS and tested on field. More advanced flirs called 500C and 600 are in development.
  • Domestic Helicopter landing system that is going to replace ASIST is being developed. It was announced by the head of SSB naval system department.
  • Turboprop variant of TS1400 can provide similar powers for Hürjet.

Is this why Hava-SOJ was delayed again? We should go with Embraer.

All Bombardier 6000 were delivered what does Canada want to delay with the sanction? It's a civilian/business jet, you can buy spareparts as you wish there are no restrictions.

If these assholes care so much about human rights then they should close their arms industries then rather than being a hypocrite.

Then again they only sell weapons to you when you use it to kill your own people when you use it to protect your national interests is when they get triggered by it because you are suppose to rule your country like a tyrant and kill your own people while we make you our puppet serving our interests.

Bombardier was providing technical support and conversion kits.

Its time, and even over time, to leave NATO.

Politics isnt for belly dancing. You leave NATO and getting hardware will become even harder. Not only will the west be willing to sell you less, but the east knowing you have less options will also squeeze you harder.

In politics you have no friends, you only have what you can get.

Still don't understand what the benefits are when we leave NATO? Do some people really believe everything will become better?

NATO protects us from NATO in the first place. We should stick to developing our defense industry. We have accumulated critical mass embargoes might create some slight delays but eventually won't work. In a decade they will come crawling to us don't worry. IMHO we should give as much aid as possible to Ukraine but ultimately wont get involved in that area beyond providing arms and intelligence. The Russians are knocking the doors of Baltics and Poland. Let the France and Greeks defend the EU LOL :).

Likewise it will only encourage NATO to provide more support for Turkeys enemies like Greece.

I don't know what more can be done for the enemies of Turkey? The US is official allies with a terrorist organization in Syria. France is supporting Russians and a maniac coupist mass killer in Libya. EU is supporting ridiculous claims of Greece. Canada is supporting Russian satellite state of Armenia even though Armenia used to be occupying %20 of UN-recognized Azerbaijan soil. In the end, it won't matter how much support is given to Greece. They are insignificant in the world's geopolitics. You don't go against the Russians or Chinese by counting on militarily insignificant countries like France, Germany, or Greece. You want to do that be my guest. Send French foreign legion to defend Ukraine, Baltics, or Poland. They won't deploy even one fucking soldier in the first place. France will probably leave NATO as soon as hostilities ramp up and call for a peaceful solution to the matter offering mediation between parties. Greece will insist that the real threat is Turkey :).

We have to be rational and leave NATO as well, its just a matter of time til the Russians make a move on the batlics and scandinavia as well. If we remain, we will have headaches in the future because of these countries. If we dont remain we will have challenges in the short term but will be relieved of a lot of potential headaches in the long term.

And im not talking about leaving NATO from tomorrow on but signals that we will leave NATO should start now.

NOPE, we shouldn't leave at all. The Russians have to be stopped. The Russian bear only understands the language of power. What we should do is to show people that the Russians cant be stopped with the nations like France, Canada, or Greece. Eventually, the US will understand this either the easy way or the hard way by losing ground in the great power competition. The US doesn't have the luxury anymore to appease political lobbies and minorities in Washington. They are on the verge of losing their number 1 spot in the world. They will share it with China for several decades starting maybe by the end of this decade and after that point, China will be the clear number 1 power through the 2050s if things go like that.

IF they still want to be allied with YPG/PYD let YPG fight against Iranians which secured a 400 billion $ strategic alliance and partnership deal with China. They want to stop the Russians at the EU's doorstep let France and Greece do that.

Race and religion play a role here in their biasness against Turks.

Of course they are going to be against us.

We have a VETO right that we should use for our interests and our benefits, if Turkey leaves NATO you will see Southern Cyprus becoming a member and NATO in general creating more problems.

Ukraine question, Turkey better keeps doing what's right and this is supporting Ukraines territorial integrity. And if Russia is mad that two sovereign countries do business than it's their problem.

We can counter Canada by cancelling the contracts given to Alamos Gold in the Mount Ida region (Kaz daglari) or Canadian Energy companies.

Apparently in the start of the Karabakh war because of the urgent need of Azerbaijan 4 TB-2s were dismissed from the Navy's inventory and were transferred to Azerbaijan. One was downed. The transferred TB-2s are TCB 804, TCB 805,
TCB 809 and TCB 810. Navy had 10 TB-2s in inventory while now it haves 6 which are TCB 801, TCB 802, TCB 803, TCB 806,
TCB 807, TCB 808. The serial number of the WESCAM E/O of the downed TB-2 according to information by WESCAM is officially announced to belong to the Turkish Navy.

E-mail records made public in the Commons investigation show the Department of Global Affairs scrambled last fall to verify allegations by critics that Wescam gear had been found on Turkish-made Bayraktar drones that had crashed or been shot down in the conflict. Government officials contacted Wescam officials regarding footage and photos of drones that were circulated by Armenian forces, asking if this was indeed their gear on display.

In an Oct. 25, 2020, e-mail, Shalini Anand, the acting director-general of the trade and export controls bureau at Global Affairs, wrote to departmental colleagues with feedback from Wescam: “They have indicated that some of the images may be their product, but it is difficult to confirm.”

In the case of the imaging and targeting gear in one video, Ms. Anand’s e-mail said “a [Wescam] system with this serial number was delivered in September 2020 under permit number [redacted] approved … for end user Turkish Naval Forces.”

E-mails also indicate Global Affairs checked the end-use statement submitted to obtain export approval of the targeting gear, which said only Turkey would be using the equipment.

The “systems will be delivered and used by the final end user Turkish Naval Forces, who will use the [redacted] system for the purpose of surveillance and targeting.”

In the statement that was used to obtain export approval, Ottawa had been assured “the imported goods will not be diverted, re-exported or transferred … for any reason.”

The e-mails reveal that last fall there were more applications to export Wescam targeting gear where the ultimate user was declared to the Azerbaijani Air Force – but Ottawa never approved them before suspending all Wescam permits to Turkey last October.

This clearly shows a breach of contract from Turkish side. Their hands are tied. It had to come to a punitive decision.

When the question is the brother country of Azerbaijan there is no contract that can not be breached for Turkey. To bad it was shot down otherwise the inventory numbers of the Navy could have been covered.
