Space capabilities, nuclear capabilities, ballistic missile capabilities, there are a ton of tiers within each of those. A missile with intercontinental reach doesn't necessarily have hypersonic strike or terminal maneuverability, and in the same way, having space capabilities might just mean you can put satellites up. Whether you can build militarized space platforms, whether you can rapidly replace lost satellites, those are still open questions.

Right now the US is, without a doubt, the militarized-space superpower. If you count Starlink, they've got over 10,000 satellites deployed across more than 100 orbits, and nobody can shake them. Plenty of countries have space capabilities, but I don't think even China is on their level, there's still a generation gap between the two when it comes to space militarization.

There isn't likely to be a long time before China catches up, I will give it 3 years. Other nations will have a growing presence too. If nuclear weapons get included it will be a faster path to power parity.
