Chandrababu Naidu, while a part of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), may also be considered, though his lack of RSS backing could be a disadvantage.

Zero chance of that happening. These are different parties in the end. CB Naidu and TDP will never merge with BJP....much less make it anywhere close to BJP hierarchy to be promoted next. BJP will also never be junior partner in seats in NDA to another party for forseeable future at federal level....they dictate what NDA even is.

Additionally, leaders like M.K. Stalin of Tamil Nadu and Mamata Banerjee of West Bengal are potential candidates for national leadership roles, though Banerjee’s numerous political obstacles may hinder her chances.

Same thing, they are fundamentally different parties now. Especially DMK which has a strong anti-congress formation story to begin with if you know history of TN. Both DMK and ADMK have played coalition politics with both INC and BJP (once BJP became a sizeable federal force in the 90s) for a reason as they simply have no presence beyond TN and also no firm ideology (for rest of India) past what they exert within TN.

Mamata salted things heavily with INC when she split off (and has salted things since at various times, even recently) to form TMC, those wont be patched over. It needs deep look into West Bengal politics with its long communist govt tenure (and after effects of those cadres and vote captures/propensities and Mamata tactics with that compared to "larger" INC).

These two are regional parties unlike INC, so they will be junior alliance partners reliant on INC getting enough seats federally in larger Indian bulk in the first place.

What are the best, HIGH QUALITY, I mean real high quality, not Alpha Defense level, Indian defense YouTube channels that produce videos in English? They should provide real depth on the topics, not just Wikipedia-level knowledge, and feature videos produced by real experts, not 20-year-olds.

@Nilgiri did you notice this trend of ThePrint increasingly toeing the mainstream godi media narrative? It is not just about BD matter, I notice a broader trend for a year or so. This is sad.

Only TheWire is left now.

Considering a large amount of BD population is anti India now it aint shocking that even most liberal india media and right wing media have the same narrative. Print tends to change political orientation even on the same issue like a pendulum. Seeing Indian flag getting beaten in an ambulance and people chanting anti india slogans along with the whole "flood" misinfo and weaponising Hilsa that was happening is gonna swing even the most neutral of guys.

It is less about the narrative and more about journalistic integrity. If someone's anti-India, doesn't mean you will start talking nonsense, if you value consistency and integrity. I didn't expect ThePrint 'to change their political orientation like a pendulum' from my previous experience.

Being against modi doesnt mean you have "journalistic integrity" indian media will always see things from an india point of view. The situation wouldn't have changed even if there was a congress rule in india.Expecting any "integrity " from these media idiots is naive.

Only TheWire is left now.

Print hosts people from various political parties, that obviously includes ppl from BJP incl BJP factions that will take dim or hostile view of BD current situation.

It hosts people from other parties too (INC, DMK, SS, TMC, AAP you name it) and commentators that are Modi Critics like Vir Sanghvi, Yogendra Yadav.

Regd BD, I have seen pro-yunus govt people being platformed as well by print.

I actually remember it was the print that did a pretty sound analysis of TN politics (first time done in English anywhere that I saw).

Does that mean the print endorses the views espoused?

In the end its a media company and India has its social conservative resurgence upstream to politics. Effects of that (on politics and media) is seen in every large country that has an actual democratic republic setup with political parties.

The analysis can be done w.r.t DEM and GOP post cold war w.r.t FOX, CNN and MSNBC for example.

Regd BD specifically though, the more BD voices utilise India is bad period and throw each baby out with each bathwater:

- India role in 1971 was bad and East Pakistan Jamati narrative is to be returned to

- That INC and BJP are two sides of the same coin anyway.... INC and any Indian political party is bad, period....because its Indian. BJP is just more of the same thing that INC was etc.

- That even Yunus admin is far too pro India and BAL-heavy.

These will only strengthen the faction of BJP you see expressed here. The print job is to air out what exists politically when it comes to politics. Selective agenda ensconcement and some debate now and then with other political sides like what "the wire" does is the wire's choice to do as well. The fact is the wire exists, unlike majority of developing countries with bad constitutions from the get go and/or way worse application of them compared to India. So I don't really find those credible pointing at India when they don't get their own house in order and apply shoe on the other foot regd themselves to begin with.

These (politics, media and bias and perceived partisanship) are downstream to social forces where I turn my attention to more as by politics its already too late to use neutrality. i.e where are the actual subjects where neutral objectivity can be employed, socioeconomic analysis and so on, by literature, history and well researched subject field experts.

It would be waste of time convincing some hardset islamist that goes to al-jazeera first thing, to try broaden their horizon. I work on mitigating Islamism and Hindutva and other such ideologies (Marxism and neo-marxism are some outside of religion these days in developed world) that push for their control and growth of statism...... to begin with as heavy set ideologies become anti-realty and anti-truth quite easily.

@Nilgiri With so much negativity going on in politics, I thought i share this with you here. (Before I am drawn into the mud again in the other place)

Such a beautiful and glorious moment. He was on my radar last year but then dropped off. I didn't see that coming. Also tagging, @Ryder @TR_123456 et al.

As an avid chess expert and enthusiast myself, I was very impressed by his maturity at only 18 years of age. He stayed calm when there were setbacks in the match including the opening loss.

Indian chess renaissance has been great to watch unfold this last couple decades. It is no longer "just Anand"...though Anand was instrumental in creating what we have now.

He has been under some kind of mental stress last couple years or so, which has been dispiriting to see as he is a very nice humble and quietly spoken kind of guy and I always admired his great chess skill and accomplishments.

So this issue followed him here as well this match (he constantly ran into some time pressure compared to earlier Ding), though he played lot better throughout the match with good tenacity and able to harness the old Ding in certain games including those he won and a couple he saved from lost position (Gukesh goofed up a bunch on his end as well).

So yes objectively at his level, this blunder should never have happened....but really its a tough ending grind and there's ghosts in the end game position especially with time pressure again when you are actually playing (compared to sitting comfy and analysing etc).

I don't know your chess aptitude but basically there's a thing called King opposition that you have to visualise pre-liquidation in lot of these drawn endgames with any kind of major piece still left on board as to how the pawns and king can be sheperded to queening etc. Ding unfortunately for him had 3 strikes against him, he had already placed the bishop on a bad square, he moved the rook to non ideal file given the position earlier and then he didnt re-verify the king opposition situation as time ticked down and he assumed too quickly its still draw with Rf2.

It is actually frighteningly easy to miss, its happened to me so many times especially as I cannot think fast like GMs, so I rely on coin flip and see what happens. It is like really long division in your head, with pressure (time, mental strain, wanting to be done ASAP etc) it can fold even though one might be very accomplished in long division and maths otherwise.

Chess is such a boring game. Just like monopoly.

It just drags on and on.

I feel like the game was made to test how much patience do humans have.
