Too bad today's Afghanistan especially their leaders dont have drip like their past leaders.

Look at this uniform the Iron Amir is wearing.

Nobody does that anymore (sadly), these days is all just boring suits with different tie colors.

Bro this actually sucks man. We lost all these cool uniforms and drip for boring ass suits.

I really do miss every nation with its own uniforms and clothes.

@Ryder @Gary Why are you so obsessed with stupid and brutal dictators and their fashion?

Here, know about the Last Nawab of Dhaka, The founding father of All India Muslim league. (And Two-Nation theory)

If it wasn’t for him and few others, probably we still would’ve been Indians.

Mugabe had very westernized look and talk to him (listen to his interviews etc, its very upper class education English) most of the time though.

iirc he always went for English breakfast each day, he had all kind of idiosyncracies that were odds with say some kind of Shona culture revival (like we are trying to get at here with underlying cultural expression etc for national leaders).

Overall quite westernized guy, though he went for full on identity politics of local black populism ...well past the agreement signed with former Rhodesian govt etc.

It's kind of how in South Africa, ANC drifted away as well in post-apartheid era from Mandela's equality for all platform to what it is now with heavy black populism (at detrimental cost to white, coloured and other minorities).

Gaddafi is another interesting one that you guys bring up. He changed over time from his early simpler military outfit to all kind of stuff in IDGAF way....kind of reflecting his politics shift over time to something more of a mish mash from its earlier stauncher pan-arab-socialism with militarism underlying it etc.

Gaddafi also had elite women bodyguards.

THATS PROGRESSIVE 😆

He was all over the place and weird. Gold jewellery, ostentatious costumes, make up, nail polish....he lost his marbles in the latter half basically....along with the weird eccentric stuff he got into like you describe.

Should have kept consistent with military outfit (he started out with) and maybe one simple cultural outfit style to go along with later.

Even with military outfit, its really dumb to do stuff like epaulettes, that stuff belongs to the 19th century at the latest....lets keep it there.

No one today is Kutuzov having to deal with the vast invasion force of Napoleon at Borodino. Different era my friends.... no need for imposters today lol.

An excellent episode. I found this channel quite unique, coming from a Pakistani perspective. Not particularly for this video only but also, for its other contents.

If you want a crush course on what happened in 1971, this episode may do it for you.

I promise, every minutes of it is worth listening.

I got to watch this. Pakistan like all countries has its own complexities.

Good to see Pakistanis having an objective view of their country.

I think we should all because history is not black and white.

Certainly its not typical Pakistan perspective (which he himself criticizes a lot).

Overall pretty well done job and I have little to add to ~ 90% of it.

He puts a lot of blame on Ayub Khan correctly for what was allowed to forment in that period versus the original vision Jinnah had (and he brings up his sister I think very much to reference this). A lot of that was already usurped before Ayub took over actually if you look at the objectives resolution process for the constituent assembly (that would have gone differently if Jinnah lived longer to give better bedrock to it by his presence and guided debate). Whether that would have ultimately mattered is a big debate I got into with another Pakistani friend I know well versed in the subject (who was of the opinion that the military would have usurped things anyway at some point).

Remaining 10% would need extended discussion, like Yahya Khan's exact role/intent in new constitution formation.

From his character/nature it can be assumed it was ill-intended effort simply to sustain the army's role in Pakistan's politics, but there are details to get into there that can give counterpoints too.

Our well versed Pakistani member (Saiyan), a friend of mine... is unfortunately missing from this forum and forums in general a long while (much busier with life than before)....which is a pity as he knows this stuff in depth better than anyone else I know.

Its a very good channel you have given to me though (looking at his other content that I will have to check out later over time).

So as a thanks, I give you search results for Yahya against Saiyan's name here that you may read over time (both posts and larger threads/context) as pertaining to your deeper interest in the subject. I will at some point try get Saiyan to return to forum here if he gets more freetime/interest to spare down the road at some point.

Do be advised some of my opinions and knowledge (found in some of these threads) of the matters have since changed/grown etc.

This dropped few weeks ago.
I have been keeping an eye on both of them.

Their contents (which are more or less similar) seems to get lot of views lately and it's increasing.

About the topic of this specific video, I knew that Indian Ult-right always got their issue with Gandhi and Nehru. But these days there are noticeable Online effort to put an 'intellectual icing' on BJP's broader 'alternative history' project.
@Nilgiri

Just on a side note- that guy think India should take over North-West Bangladesh in case of any conflict with China.😅

He is well known revisionist. There is whole coterie of this type now on youtube.

I don't watch them, its a waste of time as they have deep set agenda and take advantage of self-reinforcing echo chamber phenomenon that Indian "new money + online" psyche is particularly susceptible to.... a complex and void that comes from something inside that will take too long to get into....but it has heavy dose of ingratitude in its bedrock.

I worry for my homeland from time to time on these matters....but real life always soon surfaces for me to occupy my time with anyway thankfully.

The South (where I'm from) and East are somewhat more impervious to this stuff as well.
