I do think Ada for Malaysian Navy is a great pick, probably even better than Hisar Class OPV for us.
yes, but having OPV is better than not having any.
Imo Malaysian LMS is nearly on par with ADKG (OPV). Both seem to run by diesel only propulsion, ADKG has twin fire control radar (yes the lowest block, but can be upgraded with AKREP if seems necessary).@Anmdt
Isn't Hisar actually better than Ada because e.g. in war time it can be equipped with better systems than Ada?
18 number includes the already inducted Keris Class boats as well, right? We did see a potential option of 3+8 in the past I believe for LMS Batch II. We can also expect most of the ships to be built in Malaysian shipyards. I do think Ada for Malaysian Navy is a great pick, probably even better than Hisar Class OPV for u
Yes KD Keris and 3 others ships are part of China made LMS batch 1.18 number includes the already inducted Keris Class boats as well, right? We produce the best land vehicles in the world, but our Kazakh brothers are making deals with Singapore.Singapore's ST Engineering to develop new 8x8 amphibious armored vehicle for Kazakhstan

As usual the Paramount friends from South Africa ran their wallets high. Soviet style continues in the Turkic countries.Singapore's ST Engineering to develop new 8x8 amphibious armored vehicle for Kazakhstan

They all need a cleanup like Azerbaijan did but it will take time.As usual the Paramount friends from South Africa ran their wallets high. Soviet style continues in the Turkic countries.
Every country is corrupt to a degree. Azerbaijan as well. At least make sure who skim from the top are your own people so that some of the money stays inside, not with an international company. I've followed this tender for the last 6 years. If it was in any other country at least 50 people would be behind the bars by now, including the chief of staff. Disgusting. I would be fine it was given to Patria or even ELVO from Greece after a fair process, but nope! Both Otokar and Aselsan were quite literally fucked by bs.They all need a cleanup like Azerbaijan did but it will take time.
I think you must have followed earlier developments as well, like how some groups or a particular company (KPE) funded people to bad mouth Arma against Barys 8x8, and eventually turned out that Arma was rescuing the rival in a muddy river.Terrex-3 seems to be better than Arma 1. If this is the one on which Kazakh variant is to be based.
Apperantly, Turkey's first 8x8 vehicle manufactured by Otokar was based on Terrex-1.
Regardless of the winner of the contracts, BD wins in the end. Being able to make your own ammo is invaluable. This is very recent. Due to significant political changes and new found autonomy of Bangladesh, BD armed forces seems to be in hurry for a local defence industry modernization push. Some of these projects were initiated before during the previous (semi-pupet) regime. But never came to realize actually. This time we are more optimistic. Notice the language, it is decisive. (BOF has decided to stablish 7 production line) usually it is 'evaluating/reevaluating' the ideas.
The previous deal with Repkon in 2021 was only to set up shell body (105-155mm) production line. But we lack propellant production, primer production and most importantly fuze manufacturing capability. Which is the most complex part of a mortar/artillery round.
Also, 40mm HEAT RPGs production would be a good addition.
I think these seven types of hardware was chosen wisely because they realize something like ATGM or Manpad production line would be much more costly, timely and would require local engineering experties which we don't have right now. Compared to that these capabilities can be absorbed quickly and does not require high tech expertise.
The main competition seems to be between Pakistan, China and Türkiye. I hope Turkish companies gets a fair shot at this. (Though, Pakistanis are kind of acting like they are happy to give us things for almost free due to geopolitical considerations.)
Apperantly according to the top national daily, Türkiye has already offered BD a draft comprehensive framework agreement for defence cooperation. Which would make ToT easier from SSB companies. Something like that with Japan was recently cleared by the chief advisor Yunus. I hope Turkish one also get cleared.
